sheltser, it has already been explained here and elsewhere. The 2 early complaints only proves that few decent-minded people ever listened to the Brand show live, and of those only two felt it worthwhile complaining. As I said earlier complaining about Douglas and her troupe had achieved nothing in the last four years.
Now the obscenity of Ross/Brand is exposed and every complaint is valid.

I don't agree with you John I'm sorry and doubt we ever will but I do respect your opinion and the fact you chose (if indeed you did) to complain about the broadcast.
I don't think Brand should have been sacked or Ross suspended because it was a light hearted prank that went wrong.
That said, I have not listened to the RB show as I have other things to do on a Saturday night but even if I thought the broadcast was in poor taste I would not have complained as if I had not listened to it, how can I be offended by it???
I do think that the producer that gave the go ahead for the show to be broadcast should have fallen on his sword (has he by the way?) and there it should have ended.
As I have said before, I do not think they did a lot wrong but I find their humour appealing - I like JR and RB and find them funny. I also find Chubby Brown and Bernhard Manning funny. I old school comics, Bob Monkhouse, Morecambe and Wise, Les Dawson etc etc _________________ Chris Evans' Breakfast - doesn't sound quite as good as Chris Evans' Drivetime but good nonetheless! |

Er yes, I did, via the official channels. I'm not sure 30,000 did it that way - I believe for once that someone is also counting messages posted elsewhere on the Beeb

I think it was malicious. And the oafs were out of control, thought they were untouchable.

So all your rants on here, and you have not even listened to the phone messages ??
And you question the validity of 29,998 complaints?

I found Derek and Clive funny but I wouldn't want it broadcast over the BBC _________________ Johnnie Walker read out my message on Pirate Radio! 13/8/07

I don't listen to the Russell Brand Show as a rule but I did listen to the You Tube broadcast of the programme and read the transcripts of the incident in the paper _________________ Chris Evans' Breakfast - doesn't sound quite as good as Chris Evans' Drivetime but good nonetheless! |

So... if your rants on here are worth 'publishing' then all the anti-Brand votes are valid too |

OK, I just had to look at the Daily Mail, again, some discussion about whether the suspension of Ross means the Beeb have to pay his staff....
Who pays Hot Sauce?

Not sure who the woman was on BBC news this morning but she seemed to sum it all up nicely regarding the Jonathon Ross situation - obviously the obscene calls, the David Cameron incident, his remark about him being worth 1000 BBC journalists and the unhappy situation within the BBC about his rediculous wages...
"it has lanced the boil that is Jonathon Ross" ( or something very similar ) _________________ Johnnie Walker read out my message on Pirate Radio! 13/8/07

Just looking at the interviews with Chris, Jeremy, Terry and Paul and I think it's slightly divided? I personal can't see how Ross will make a return to Radio 2? Maybe put his brother on instead? I wonder what Paul Ross had to say about this all? |

Paul Ross on Radio 2? Meh. It will never happen.
Mark Thompson has already said that he hopes Jonathan Ross returns to his duties after his suspension. Jonathan Ross will be back, make no mistake about it/ He's the BBC's highest paid entertainer and knows what side his bread is buttered. |
