The Countryside Alliance wants the hunting ban to be repealed
More than a quarter of a million people are to take part in Boxing Day hunts, according to the Countryside Alliance.
More than 300 such events are planned on the busiest day of the hunting year.
Hunting with dogs was banned in 2005. Under the ban, dogs can still be used to follow a scent - but cannot be used to kill the fox.

It's a disgraceful blood sport. I would expect there will be people out in the fields recording those who don't abide by the new rules? |

I thought hunting was banned. Not even this lot would try and ban people going horse riding.
If anyone is breaking the law they should be prosecuted. Though I'd love to see a hunt turn up en masse to court, complete with dogs and horses. _________________ I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. |

I hate it and as number six points out it is already banned, I certainly don't think it should ever be repealed. |

On the whole I support the ban for what it has achieved but believe it was introduced to get one over on 'the toffs' rather than out of any concern for the fox.
Not sure if the end justifies the means.

Better stop other animals hunting each other as well then. Maybe you can stop all animals killing & eating each other, but I somehow doubt it. _________________ His name was ernie ........ and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west..... |

Animals killing each other for food is nature, I would hardly call fox hunting natural. |

But they do it for sport not to survive, it's a different thing altogether IMO. |

Well they do it for many reasons such as managing the population size. Point being that nature is not as cuddly as some people thing it should be, so it doesnt much matter to an animal whether humans or some other animal kill it. _________________ His name was ernie ........ and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west..... |

So why not just shoot it? why chase it around then rip it to bits?
I guess we will just have to disagree on this one. |

You can shoot it, I believe.
The problem is that most hunters are lousy shots and leave the fox badly wounded. _________________ I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. |
