What is the point of sending Dermot O'Leary all the way to Texas for a week just so he can do a rubbish interview with Lily Allen? He could have just stayed in London - in fact, most of the interview was going on about the last time they did an interview... in London!
And how great that while in Texas he managed to find time for James Morrison, Amy Winehouse, and Mika - all of whom are so underexposed in their home country and are cruelly denied any outlets for their music.
Pointless, just pointless. |

Yes, I'm ashamed to say I listened to some of the programme too, and also wondered why I was bothering since there wasn't a great deal about, er, American artists.... After the fourth time I started to mentally scratch my head, Kermit got the chop in favour of a Hayley Hutchinson CD. _________________ Author: “To the Ends of the Earth: A Snapshot of Aviation in North-Eastern Siberia, Summer 1992”

There were some good ones on 6 music with Steve Lamacq. I think you can still hear them on the website. I have to say that it was better when Bob Harris & Stuart Maconie went there. Didn't Mark Lamarr also go there a year or two ago? _________________ Lord Evan Elpuss, Your ideal job is a Lumberjack. |

Yes it was better in the past when Maconie, Lamarr, and Harris went. They seemed far more interested in finding new stuff. Several other UK stations have been there this year and just seemed to have the same stuff too. |

Maybe it's only a 1-way ticket _________________ Geddon

Natasha, you should have just said "What is the point of Dermot O'Leary?" and left it at that.... _________________ Author: “To the Ends of the Earth: A Snapshot of Aviation in North-Eastern Siberia, Summer 1992”

Agreed !! What the hell are Silly Allen, Razorsh!te and that talentless twonk Mika getting invited to Austin for anyway ?? And then for a British so-called radio station to feature a showcase of them all is ludicrous.. we can here this TRIPE anytime over here !! What happened to all the great live coverage from The Broken Spoke that LaMarr did a while back and the fantastic insights into the Texas Americana scene that Harris used to do ?? OI! BBC ..... N-O-O-O-O-O-O-O !!! |

All they needed was the Scissor Sisters and Robbie Williams and it may have well have been Real Radio or Radio Aire! _________________ We made a land where crap is king and the good don't last for long.
