Yes he has a smooth voice but he doesn't know what he's doing or what he's talking about, two reasonably important things for a radio DJ I feel _________________ You will hear gospel and rhythm and blues and jazz, all those are just labels, we know that music is music. |

I'm enjoying it. Elisabeth Mahoney's review was spot on for me.
Its early morning, we want to ease our way into the day slowly and quietly, to awake with the gentle beeping of an alarm clock, not a full brass band. |

I guess Richard Madeley must have something that Evans doesn't - he doesn't get switched off by me in the morning so that must be good for him!
It certainly is "beige radio", but I've decided that he's doing a reasonable job under the circumstances. It could be a lot worse - and as from 6.30am next Monday it will be (again).
That Fiona Philips woman gabbles on a bit though. I don't know a lot about her, largely because I never watched GMTV, but I do remember her doing the AA Roadwatch traffic reports on ILR during the 80s - particularly in Paul McKenna's breakfast show on Chiltern Radio. |

Broadsheet newspaper review today covered three stories
Student Demo (fair enough)
Take That/JLS/British Legion single release date
Stephen Fry buying 22 cucumbers
Bearing in mind this was the Broadsheet review Lord only knows what the tabloid review covered. Don't let anyone tell me this is not dumbing down in the extreme. _________________ "There are more of us now......that makes us right" |

I'm sure there were lots of worthy items to review, I think it's more of a reflection of the ones doing the picking of the items to be reviewed rather than the paper itself, though I take your point about dumbing down. |

He's just said he'll be back in January as has Ken just now.

to be honest I think that with the exception of Allan Carr I would prefer to listen to anyone other than CE in the morning. I haven't really listened much to what Richard has had to say but he can at least be used as background sound whereas I can't listen to the usual show as it is too invasive, roll on Christmas! |

Am I a conspiracy theorist. This morning Richard did a link to The Trammps but The Beautiful South came up instead. I don't think a professional like Richard would make such a gaffe. Could the CE cronies in the studio be reacting to the good feedback that he has been getting? |
