Sunday Night at Ten has never been the same since Malcolm left and then, sadly, died. He was the one presenter whose loss felt like a personal loss to me although I had never met him.
He was treated shamefully by Radio 2 Management in regard to their demands that he drop the dance band music from the first half of his programme, without discussing it with him and with no room to manouevre. |

And as for the arguments over his pay - well, the BBC were getting an out-and-out bargain regarding the amount of research he himself did into compiling idyllic programmes for his many fans. |
