I used to love his Sunday pm show and learnt so much from him. Also enjoy watching him on my DVDs of Laurie Johnson's London Big Band which he compered a couple of times. After his death he was replaced as compere by Malcolm Laycock. |

I have the 2-hour Radio 2 programme he did as a tribute to Sinatra shortly after his death (Sanatra's, I mean!). Funnily enough I've never listened to it all so maybe now is a good excuse. It's on the HiFi tracks of a VHS tape, so I ought to digitise it first! Another one for the ever-growing list.... |

I remember listening to that Colin. I don't think I recorded it though.

My sister always used to talk about him. I onl;y got into his shows near the end. A very well informed presenter with a ghreat style. R2 could do with a few of those now |

Enjoyed those Sunday afternoon shows of Benny's too - both informative and entertaining. That followed by Alan Dell with Sounds Easy.
Benny wrote a few series for Radio 2 including the 26 part Hooray for Hollywood presented by Douglas Fairbanks Jnr. I've a vague recollection of him writing a series narrated by Orson Welles about the Hollywood movie moguls but can find no reference to it so maybe misremembering this. |
