Entirely agree
I've never been able to stick him on radio or TV
To me he comes over as arrogant smug and boring with a lack of proper knowledge as to relevent subject matter
Why on earth can't the BBC give us a decent breakfast presenter on Radio 2? |

The answer is that he and his missus are now best chums with Chris Evans and there's no doubt in my mind that this was pretty much decided by the real controller of Radio 2....... Chris Evans himself. It also explains why Evans can demand his own exclusive "past celebrity" newsreaders. |

Listened this morning and not impressed. Far too much 'When Judy and I blah blah blah...........'.
Only upside is that it isn't Evans shouting. May not bother for the rest of the fortnight and go back to recording Lynn Parsons to listen to.

He was on some tv show a while back talking about his friend Tony Blair...hes been to No 10 you know....cant recall his exact statement but it was roughly" Do you really think a man of Tonys stature and a Prime Minister would lie to the public?".....i thought then this guy lives in the land where the purple bunnies play

Jimmy that explains a great deal
I don't think I'd want to admit to being Blair's friend or even a remote acquaintance
It's probably just as bad as admitting to liking Chris Evans! |

He strikes me as being like a male Zoe Ball. A lot of words tumble from his mouth, but very few are worth hearing. |

I dont like Richard Madeley.
Never liked him on TV and think he is terrible doing the morning slot...he is not shouting but talks a lot of rubbish....
Why did CE have him as a replacement....there are much better 'fillers in'......Oh! answered my own question
...There is better out there why this man?????? _________________ I like hedgehog crisps |

Because SOMEBODEEEEE doesn't want the competition.
I thought on Monday that at least Madeley was preferable to Evans, but I am rapidly coming to the conclusion that there's really nothing between them. |

He seems so utterly desperate to come across as "cool" but he just can't bring himself to go all loud and hyper like wot his new-found hero and chum Chris Evans does.
That's probably why he gabbles so much about very little. |

Many years ago whilst at Yorkshire TV he had a weekly music spot as part of their Calendar evening news magazine. He was utterly clueless on that, too. |

I'd seen him on tv saying this sort of thing but didn't realise that he's done this. The Madley argument if he's been round for dinner then he can't be guilty?
Also to use the Thatcher argument about spin on the Falklands to justify it being wrong again ? _________________ You will hear gospel and rhythm and blues and jazz, all those are just labels, we know that music is music. |

I can't believe what I've just watched
What a complete and utter buffoon. What the hell is he doing filming himself sitting there pontificating to the camera about stuff he clearly knows sweet f.a. about.
I had no strong feelings about the bloke one way or the other before I watched that but the comparison with Churchill made me want to put my boot through the screen. |

I tell you what really annoys me - some bloke who's younger than me presenting his own opinion as if it were fact and patronising me in the process.
What a complete prat! |

Colin's opinion IS fact regarding Evans. I mean, that goes without saying - how could anyone argue otherwise? Evans has to be the most needlessly over-hyped 'presenter' on Radio 2. |

Yes Blair is certainly unique
He is probably the only person who will go down in history as the worst Prime Minister of not just one century not even two centuries not even one millennium but actually two millennia
That's some record probably never to be surpassed
By the way notice the correct Latin plural!
I don't just throw these postings together you know! |

Surely Richard Madeley is entitled to his own opinion regarding Tony Blair?
I'm not a fan of Tony Blair but it always annoys me the amount of times he's called George Bush's poodle.
Yet again, because his views weren't the same as the lefties it makes him a poodle, but if he agreed with the lefties it would've been "Tony's a hero for standing up to the American infidels" |

Sure. But his "opinion" sounds like it was written by the Labour Party Press Office. |

There is only one forum here unless John is hiding another one away somewhere and not telling us

At the risk of being pedantic (ha ha), this messageboard is made up of individual fora, each of which is listed under a specific category!

Gaz Blairs views weren't even in keeping with the right wing let alone the so called lefties
He was the person who lumbered us with the ridiculous nanny state we have today - hardly a right wing concept!
I agree that it was wrong to call him George Bush's poodle because as an animal lover its quite simply an insult to our canine friends
The fact is the only person Blair was interested in was himself and his own now very profitable retirement |

Gaz, did you watch the clip?
Of course Richard Madeley is entitled to his opinion but if you're going to set yourself up as some arbiter of the truth, at least come out with some kind of coherent argument.
The bilge that spilled out of his gob was absolutely pathetic. He's a lightweight television presenter not A. J. P Taylor. Someone has written on the comments section:
"This is a bit like a three year old boy giving me a lecture on the Copenhagen interpretation of quantum mechanics"
and that is absolutely bang on the money. The camera scanning over the books on his shelves (to show us how well read he is presumably) the patronising tone "international law is incredibly complicated" .. "it's important to remember that governments do use spin to take their countries to war" - I've never heard such a load of patronising crap in my life. |

He's back on again, I didn' tgo out of my way to listen to it I promise
This morning there was a newspaper review. Ok fair enough it is the breakfast show, tabloids only. showing where the show is targetting.
review 1. Mail ladies bums
review 2. X factor
so a proper review of the rubbish papers
Then he played Georgia's on my Mind by Ray and I calmed down _________________ You will hear gospel and rhythm and blues and jazz, all those are just labels, we know that music is music. |
