Lovely to hear this Debbie Reynolds hit on Sarah Kennedy's show spot this morning. For a few moments I was transported back to Autumn 1957, when I was a nine-year-old schoolboy and this song was being played over and over again.

I didn't hear it as I don't listen to that show but yes, a very nice song. I'd forgot about it.
I just checked to see if Debbie had any more hits but apparently not.
1957. Full of memorable classics.
Number ones
Singing the Blues - Guy Mitchell or Tommy Steel but I think Guy's was more "meaty"
Garden of Eden - Frankie Vaughan
Young Love - Tab Hunter!!
Cumberland Gap - Lonnie Donegan
Rock a Billy - Guy Mitchell
Butterfly - Andy Williams
Yes Tonight Josephine - Johnnie Ray
Gamblin Man/Putting on the Style - Lonnie Donegan
All Shook Up - Elvis (swoon)
Diana - Paul Anka
That'll be the Day - Crickets
Mary's Boy Child - Harry Belafonte
I can smell those 78's on a hot turntable.... |

Whenever I hear that song I always think of a an older cousin who we must have stayed with that summer, as she was singing that song morning, noon and night!
