A survey for electrical retailer Comet suggests that men are no longer the masters of technology, as women become more confident with electronic gadgets.
The days of women asking their husbands or boyfriends for help to tune the television or install the computer may be over - 48% of women said they felt comfortable tackling technological tasks in the home, compared with 47% of men. Further than that, 85% of men no longer consider themselves the most competent member of the household
We have split levels of competancy in this household. Son is a wiz with anything computer, mobile phone and games related (I've never touched one of those consoles, have no real wish to), my wife plays with the tv remote and the iron, and the Off switch on the hifi. Neither of them can work the central heating control, the washing machine or dishwasher (that's what they say, anyway)

My sons (none of them still resident chez nous) are all better than me on the computer--so is Mrs W, except when she needs to be navigated round Facebook. I do TV remote controls and Video Plus setting and we can both do dishwasher and washing machine. We have a DVD player but don't use it much--I find it less cumbersome to watch DVDs on the computer.

When hubby is home I'm not allowed to have the TV remote. Sometimes I hide it.... it drives him bonkers. He searches high and low.... he never thought to check out the salad drawer in the fridge though. Hah! |

The TV remote is called the Fat Controller in our house.
No correlation between the article and the person who uses it most should ever be made. _________________ Ron |

My husband is the greatest knob fiddler in our house, (but at least he doesn't do it in company).
The two areas where I am queen, is in resetting the oven clock, and resetting the clock radio. Women understand the concept of time better. _________________ Minx
