'Talking over the music is frowned upon' said JV on today's show to a caller. Someone should tell Steve Wright and Chris Evans then! |

Tom Robinson started his 6 music show this evening with that Smiths track that Jeremy Vine sometimes ends his show with. It was nice to hear the whole of 'Girl Afraid' for a change instead of just the opening few bars. _________________ Lord Evan Elpuss, Your ideal job is a Lumberjack. |

Wasn't talking over the music, originally just the instrumental intros, started by the American DJs of the 50s like Howlin' Wolf?
The pirate DJs brought it to Britain in the 60s, and inevitably Radio 1, and the best of them made an art form of it - Alan Freeman, Kenny Everett, Empereor Rosko. Nowadays they just talk over anywhere, and they're just about all guilty - Wogan, Evans, Lester, Matthew. Even the original DJ, David Jacobs. _________________ Ron |

Pay for the taxi fare home for drunks?? only Norfolk could come up with this moronic idea
That Councillor woman going on about the younger drinker not having enough cash for the ride, well maybe they should save some of their drink money to pay for it!
Honestly, would the tax payer have to fork out for a tip too??
The point about drunken passengers throwing up in the back of the car is a good one.. not only for the cost to clean the car but also it would be out of action for the rest of the night.
What about the legal situation? if that taxi became involved in an accident and the drunk was injured... "well, I was forced into the car by your ossifers..."
Why don't we just introduce a law about being Drunk & Disorderly on the street and fine accordingly... oh, wait a minute, there is one already..
Maybe I should suggest to Watton District Council they should install a cold shower on the street and throw the buggars in . _________________ Johnnie Walker read out my message on Pirate Radio! 13/8/07

I wish you'd phoned in with that suggestion!
Richard Bacon was incapable of shutting up the stupid woman.
