Didn't hear much this morning, but maybe he's feeling his busy weekend. He said he was at Glastonbury and saw Bruce in Hyde Park on Sunday night.

Perhaps he's hoarse from having to try and get a word in edgeways alongside Deadly who always seems to be under the illusion that when JW sits in for Wogan it becomes the Alan Dedicoat show _________________ He's not the Messiah- he's a very naughty boy! |

Definitely not as 'fast-paced' and light-hearted as usual...sounds more like his old drivetime shows when he seemed to have a calmer approach. Not that I'm complaining - he always makes great radio does our Johnnie. Glad to have him in my ears for two weeks. |

Did you mean his actual voice Tom?
I was thinking this morning how his speech sounded a bit different.
Kind of like when Sir Bobby Robson had surgery on his mouth.
Still a great show from Johnnie as usual, makes work so much more pleasureable |

Yes, Johnny sounds as though he might have had a tooth out or he's got a problem with his tongue. Perhaps he's got a broken tooth with some sharp edges that's giving his tongue a hard time - I've had that and it's horrible!
I certainly hope it's nothing more serious than that.

Yes, it was the 'tooth or tongue' thing I was referring to : only caught a little of the programme this morning, and thought he sounded better. |

Oh I think he is more laid back than Wogan these days Ian. The last time he sat in I noticed it too.
Re his voice I've heard him sound as you described on a couple of occasions before.

Totally agree, that's why I have to turn off JW. It's a shame, but Deadly just gets on my wick. _________________ MiS |

I agree about deadly. Much prefer John Marsh's humour and presentation style. |

He seemed to have picked the pace up this morning - lots of hilarity. Is he a Guardian reader? |
