I've watched this on BBC1 ever since it started and have regarded it as a fine piece of ensemble drama.
But the story lines in the current series really are beginning to stretch credulity.
Last night we were asked to believe that a young girl from a problem family would be placed by social services at the residence of one of her teachers--a young single man living alone, to boot.
As the dialect of my adoptive home area would render it--haddaway!

I watched the first series avidly, but something happened to it after that and it's just not the same - the cast has changed practically 100% and it really is just a soap. _________________ MiS |

The fire in the final episode was ridiculous. All they could have done was drop a match in the corridor seeing as a lot of the pupils wore so much hair gel! _________________ We are loonies and we are proud!
