This is not a criticism but is it me or is Allinson getting more sarcastic and cutting with his humour? Anyone else noticed this. I'm sure he never used to be so, um, biting. |

RA is one of those broadcasters who are ok, but not really noticeable, if you know what I mean? Dare I say the "B" word, rhymes with canned? _________________ MiS |

Allinson's been BANNED from Radio 2?!! For heaven's sake, he wasn't being offensive; 'Shaggy' really is the name of his guest for tracks of their years... it wasn't meant as an abusive term. |

I'm usually a fan of Richard but I'm now starting to get tired of the constant schedule info that he gives out several times during the show.

the constant grin, predictable chauvinist remarks, playground level humour copious boring emails and bland presentation..
Completely missable radio for me. _________________ Johnnie Walker read out my message on Pirate Radio! 13/8/07

As one of Richard's biggest fans I would say his current shows/stints on Radio 2 are excellent.
I have noticed "no drop" in the usual high broadcasting standards.
I think it is a common courtesy to advise us listeners of what's coming up in the schedules.
Allinson rocks. |

I noticed that yesterday. Twice in one hour he read the full schedule. Other than that it wasnt too bad though. The text in topic was mildly amusing for once. _________________ His name was ernie ........ and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west..... |

Richard is a good broadcaster, but I'm surprised know one else has offered him a regular gig on another Radio Station? Mark Goodier left as he was offered a regular gig, and didn't really want to be hanging around for the next cover job. I'm sure the BBC awards him well and Richard does do other work with the BBC and voice over stuff.
The problem is it's not worth making Kens show etc his and only Text and Email topics etc is the only way to make the show livley. As I said " He's not got a regular gig" I hope something happens in the new year with the new appointed controller? |

Nod-Buy a new radio, one which has a retuning nob which you can use to tune into a different radio station when Richard is on.
It's not compulsory to listen to something you don't enjoy. |

I only heard yesterdays which was about things that people mislaid but were too embarassed to report & a few of them made me smile anyway. _________________ His name was ernie ........ and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west..... |

Not more than once during the same show though Mark.
Maybe it's the 'holiday' email/text subjects as well. I usually enjoy his shows as you probably know!

Sadly yesterday it went on for hours , but todays was just time filling with 'guess the question to the answer' and 'what would you do with an extra second', both old stuff. |

You mean to say that Evans doesn't do that?
Yes it is time for a decent presenter who would turn 'Driveltime' back into 'Drivetime'. _________________ Lord Evan Elpuss, Your ideal job is a Lumberjack. |

Richard Allinson would be good. Sadly the way he's been treated over the years as just a stand - in we may get someone else if Chris moved. I can't see that happening as it seems some are tied to the studio chairs except when they are on holidays. |

Not sure how this got around to CE but the answer is No. Only on fridays but that is a request show and the reading out of texts of where are you going, but you know thats what happens on fridays.
When did you hear CE ask ' the answer is 1 in 4 what is the question' or 'what have no stolen'? and use it as a complete 3 hour time filler ? Never. |

What was Allinson's apology all about? He just said that he made inappropriate remarks about assisted suicide yesterday and then made a really insincere apology. So was the apology a joke or is he not able to apology properly? _________________ His name was ernie ........ and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west..... |

I heard that remark and thought it was in very poor taste. Not surprised that he's been told to apologise.
Basically, Ernie, he was suggesting that people should offer up their two favourite candidates for assisted suicide. Not clever. |

I didn't think anything of it when he said the remark out of the Tuesday news, but I'm sure he had loads of complaints which called him to apologise. Green and clean Allinson was caught out with his tongue. Never mind. |

I don't think he meant any harm or offence at all.
He's apologised-it seems to me a bit of a storm in a teacup. |

We all say things we regret occasionally, I shouldn't think he meant to offend, more a case of foot in mouth disease.
It's not much of a deal really, certainly it's nothing compared to what those other two did. |

If Richard is not going to be offered a full time show on Radio 2 in 2009 then hopefully he will continued to be offered cover work as the next best thing. |
