Nothing in life is certain Iain.
My own view is that it's JR won't be back at R2 although he will be back on BBC1.
JR not being at R2 has left a hole the same size as the one that remains in the water after you take your hand out of a full bucket of it. |

Ha ha Rachel!
Now, if they could also drop Steve Wrong and Elaine Pain, we'd be laughing! _________________ MiS |

TBH, I'd forgotten about Ginger. Because I never ever listen to him unless by accident or I'm held captive, he just doesn't register anymore on my radar. I wish he wasn't there, and I could listen to R2 5-7, but I'm so used to doing other things at that time, it really doesn't matter. What really bugs me are the trailers on shows I do listen to. _________________ MiS |

I'm surprised if he returns to Radio 2 as it will be hassle with the listeners and you can't stop anti emails? I would expect he will return to BBC 1 until Micheal Grade poaches him? Sorry? |

BBC managers seem not to have learned any lessons. They are still being dicatated to by stars agents _________________ His name was ernie ........ and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west..... |

Jeremy was mentioning something about this today and hopes it will all go away soon. I do believe he's tarnished Radio 2, and shouldn't return and do an honour and leave the station. Or has he with his profile removed?
He's only holding out because his under contract? The BBC trust are right- Mark Thompson shouldn't have built up peoples hopes of his January return? |

As long as he is not replaced by the idiot Baker. I'm currently back to listening to R2 on a Saturday morning. One leftover from the Bannister era is more than sufficient on the BBC. _________________ Geddon

Jeremy actually said it would be nice for radio 2 not to be in the news for one day, referring to an item in the news. He didn't make a comment on the fact that the DG saying that it would have been preferable for Radio 2 not to have said J Ross was returning until the Trust had reported on it's findings on the debackle.

This isn't going to go away unless he's removed?
If the BBC sack him then the BBC may owe him a lot? If he resigns then they don't owe a penny? Although he broadcasts on Radio and TV they do have a lot to lose with other projects he gives them through his management company ' Off The Kerb'. Still that shouldn't keep him at the BBC. It's like he's holding them to ransom and makes Thompson weak? |

Surely it will go away - people will have forgotten all about it in a year's time.
As for Andrew Sachs...well looks like it's helped his career, he is rumoured to be joining Corrie as Norris' brother:

...Quite excited about this. Funny thing was - for a long time I thought Norris was actually played by the actor who played Manuel....which is just a very weird co-incidence - but then they do look quite similar... |

It does seem bizarre and unfair that Douglas lost her job as bos sof the station for something Ross did,yet Ross might keep h is job on the station. |

I'm with Rachel on this one - I suspect he'll bow out from R2 with as much goodwill as can be gained from such a decision (not much, then) but keep his more lucrative exposure on the television (the evening show, Film whatever). _________________ Author: “To the Ends of the Earth: A Snapshot of Aviation in North-Eastern Siberia, Summer 1992”

Yes but Douglas and her staff should have known NOT to broadcast the stuff. Both Sachs and Ross thought it would NOT be broadcast because they had ASKED for it not to be broadcast. |

If Lesley Douglas has finally paid the price for all her atrocious decisions over the last few years then that's fine by me. At least she's finally had the guts to stand up and be counted for this mistake. |
