Great to hear Richard back on Radio 2 broadcasting on a Saturday.
Good kick off record-New Order.
The music played already is so much better than the records normally played by Ross.
Lets hope this turns into a permanent gig for Richard. |

What the hell is going on? I have switched Allinson off. I knew it wouldn't be long before he played Steve Harley...
I hope Allinson isn't sitting in for the duration of Ross's absence. If I want cheesy radio then I can tune into Smooth.
Bring in Alan Carr and Justin Lee Collins. |

Alan Carr, Jimmy Carr, Frank Skinner and Graham Norton. How do these people get onto our TV screens? |

Don't know Briant. Just as long as they stay on our TV screens and don't get anywhere Radio 2. At the risk of repeating myself that's what's wrong with Radio 2, all these TV celebs thinking they'll be good on the radio.
Allinson's show does seem a little lacklustre but to be fair he hasn't had long to prepare for it. At least he's a real radio presenter _________________ I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. |

We already had a thread opened about this, Mark
One thing is the BBC are playing safe, and it's nice to have Richard on, but it does sound a little naked without any guests. Don't know as he said at the end of the show? Meaning if he's on next Saturday..
So if he's covering for the next few weeks. Please could we have some guests? |

It's simple really. They are popular in the entertainment world, hence why some of them have appeared on Radio 2. Okay, I'm not keen on Jimmy Carr, Frank Skinner or Graham Norton, but they do have a huge fan base. |

Richard Allinson was truly awful today, so I switched off rather than torture myself by listening to the show in its entirety.
Radio 2 were scraping the bottom of the barrel this morning. The blandness of Allinson sticks out a mile. No wonder Lesley Douglas dropped him from late-nights and Saturday afternoons. |

Seems, with the axing of Alan Carr, the shows and artists from Jonathan Ross's agency have been dropped. |

The Cap isn't filled between 10-1pm on 9th November. I suppose it would sound good with some guests, Richard is capable of doing this? I guess we will have to wait and see. |

I always thought Lesley Douglas would offer Chris Tarrant a permanent slot on Radio 2. He would have been excellent. I thought CT would have been Michael Parkinson's successor. |

Richard Allinson isn't capable of filling in for big names like Jonathan Ross. The programme yesterday was absolutely appalling. It stank of "Richard Allinson on Saturday".
My guess is Richard Allinson and Alex Lester were brought in as replacements for Ross and Brand as an emergency measure. I haven't heard Alex Lester's stint, so I cannot comment, though I do like Lester. |

I am probably in the minority here, but Alice was welcomed in the Geddon Household. Saturday morning radio was now worth listenung to. _________________ Geddon

I don't think you are the minority BGW.
On this board and others Richard's appearance yesterday has been widely welcomed, if for nothing else we had some decent music played on a Saturday morning. |

Cheesy pop? If you want that kind of radio, then retune to Smooth, Magic or Heart. Jonathan Ross is immensely popular on Saturday mornings and gives us a break from blandness. |

Some are divided whether he will return, well too Radio 2. |

It might not be up to Mark Thompson, who's to say he will still be around when his suspension ends. |

There's no sign of Mark Thompson leaving. Ross will be back with his tail between his legs. |

Don't hold your breath about the return to Radio 2. I know Ross is a good all round entertainer. I think it's disgusting the BBC are holding onto him just for the Ratings? The BBC shouldn't be chasing ratings, this is why there was tis foul up in the system? |
