It's nice to hear Colin on the Saturday Afternoon News on Radio 2. He does lift up the station and makes it so warm. |

It's always been part of the package on Terry Wogan's show, viz - Fran Godfrey, 'Boggy' Marsh & 'Deadly'. Only those three though! Janice Long also has a chat with the night time newsreader & weatherman / woman. _________________ Lord Evan Elpuss, Your ideal job is a Lumberjack. |

Maybe, but it's become more unbearable recently with his awful singing etc and encouraged by JW. he certainly isn't entertaining. |

Yeah - I heard that bit - great stuff. Dermot might not be loved by the majority on these boards, but I always get the impression that he really knows his Radio 2. He's one of the few presenters that really sounds like he listens to the station.

Don't forget Colin does an excellent weekly show where he plays the mix of music that he used to play on Radio 2 many years ago on the BBC Eastern Counties Local Radio Stations between 11.00pm and 1.00am Saturday Night/Sunday Mornings. His programme which can be heard live on Radio Essex/Norfolk/Suffolk/Cambridge/Northants/Kent and Three Counties Radio is also available to hear online thru Listen Again. In his two hour show he takes listener's calls and plays everything from Ray Conniff and Burt Bacharach to Andy Williams and Paul Young. |

I don't get that impression at all. I can believe his producer listens, but Dermot? Nah. There are times he mentions stuff that's been in a trail in disbelief - he doesn't know where those clips are from or the context. Plus the other week, he played Andrew Gold's "Lonely Boy" and thought it was a new song. Which he wouldn't if he listened to Radio 2 on a regular basis. |
