Surely it would have been better to put the dreadful Miranda Hart before Sean Locke amd friends on Saturday afternoon. It's just an awful letdown after what is an excellent half hour.
This Saturday's show featuring Rob Gilbert talking about million candle torches and duvet tog ratings was one of the most brilliant and inspired pieces of stand up comedy I have heard on Radio 2 in a long, long time.
Miranda Hart's brand of comedy just doesn't work on radio and has performed far better in stuff such as Jack Dee's Lead Balloon and in Not Going Out with Lee Mack where she works better visually. |

I am still amazed at what R2 thinks is comedy. Sean Locks half hour was just awful in my opinion, the material was rubbish and only once warranted a small smile. Rod Gilbert was either very nervous or a rubbish stand up, I know which one I'm going to plump for. _________________

I dont think performers are going to waste good material on the radio. _________________ His name was ernie ........ and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west..... |

I would agree with the OP. Sean Lock & Friends was great, but Miranda Hart was terrible... again. I can't believe she's got a BBC Two telly series from this. |
