My money is on Steve Wright-he is dumb enough to do such a thing-maybe Sarah Kennedy as she is totally clueless.
Maybe Gary Gliter will turn up as a guest to be interviewed on the Big Show-can you imagine Wright's ego in all this. |

I thought the producers chose which songs to play.
I just wish the media would stop giving this odious pervert publicity. |

I doubt any of the major dj's will play him.
BTW, is he deliberately trying to look as weird as possible? |

I could not believe that he took precedence over the Madrid air crash on Radio 2's news summaries this morning.
What's really annoying is that when he gets back to this country, as he most surely will, we are going to have to pay for his protection, as well as keeping an eye on what he's up to. _________________ Ron |

I’m really very disappointed with the Press and Media (although that is nothing new). To see a photographer on his knees, kneeling at length in front of GG on a plane like he is some kind of Icon that we all want to see a picture of, just summed up our Press in one shot. They are no better than he is. Worse than that is the Government and their cheap headline grabbing, after 12 years of doing diddlysquat they chose now to jump on the Glitter bandwagon to make it look like they care. A more wretched, shallow and insincere display of politics you will never across.

Yes, depends how those photos are going to be used, and it could have been non-UK press. Knowing which way the wind is blowing, it's inconceivable that even the most salacious of the red-tops would be considering giving him publicity.
The Government has become adept at jumping on the bandwagon to make itself appear good, but they've done it so often it may have become counter-productive. I'd like to think one of a different colour wouldn't stoop so low, but these days I'm not so sure.
GG's erstwhile backing band, The Glitter Band, of which two original members remain (John Rossell and Harvey Ellison) are still going strong, and playing the 70s nostalgia gigs, mainly at Butlins special winter weekends. They play well and are always well received, and they steer well clear of Gary's material. _________________ Ron |

Ah, there he is, page 9. I had to get through the horror at Madrid, John Prescott kissing Jodie Marsh, yet another teenage party that wrecks the whole street, and the Keep Cleer sign to get there.
At least it's a straight report. He has no hiding place and I suppose that is good in itself. For every one high profile name like his there are thousands of anonymous ones we are not kept track of. _________________ Ron |

I nearly added then that even the US Baseball parks have stopped playing bits of his songs.
To my amazement, watching the Mens Beach Volleyball Final this morning from Beijing, what should I hear over their PA but "Come on, Come on, Come on, Come on...." _________________ Ron |

Apparently (and I don't know how true this is) GG doesn't own the rights to most of his biggest songs because he either didn't write them or what rights he did have were sold for huge sums just before the scandal came out. |

On the JV show this morning, somebody asked whether this will be compared to a Witch Hunt in the future.
Some of the comment I've heard on the Vine Show over the last few days does seem out of place on National Radio when focused upon an individual. _________________ Johnnie Walker read out my message on Pirate Radio! 13/8/07

Did you see the ITN reporter trying to get an interview as he got of the plane? At one point he addressed him as "Mr Glitter"! |

This is a bloody stupid thread. Know one in there right mind would be allowed to even play his songs. I doubt the BBC have got them on their computers or any-other radio station. Ofcom would have sent out a strong message to all broadcasters TV or Radio not to play any clips. There would be public uproar...
Mark and even saying those names above would play them well that shows you don't have any respect. The thread in my book is void......
Thank you!!!!!!! |

Not sure how that explains where they got the clip of him doing Top Of The Pops in his heyday when they reported his release & extended return to the UK then. And no I don't condone the dreadful things he did. I do agree with you that I don't believe that anyone is likely to play any of his tracks in the foreseeable future (Even those I may moan about & don't listen to) _________________ Lord Evan Elpuss, Your ideal job is a Lumberjack. |
