|
|
BBC Radio 2 has hired Zoe Ball to broadcast a season of programmes dedicated to dance music and create a poll to find the greatest dance record of all time.
The station will trace the evolution of the musical genre, from the early days of northern soul to the present day, in a three-part series.
In Acid House – The Next Generation, DJ Chris Coco speaks to ravers young and old – from promoters, musicians and DJs like Carl Cox and Dave Haslam, who helped kick-start a dance music revolution, to new kids on the block like New Young Pony Club and Klaxons.
The Definitive History Of UK Dance Music, which is produced for BBC Radio 2 by Unique Productions, begins on Saturday 21 June at 7pm.

The end is night for Radio 2 This isnt the dance music most Radio 2 listeners want to hear. _________________ His name was ernie ........ and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west..... |

Totally agree the end is nigh for Radio 2.
Why on earth isn't this on Radio 1 or Radio 1 extra or 6 music.
Why is BBC Radio 2 totally obsessed with young people nowdays, I am sick of it. |

The station has evolved over the years and trying to attract a different listener. |

But Radio 1 is meant for teenagers, indeed that was who it was designed for when the pirates were outlawed in 1967. Will someone please tell Lesley Douglas that!! _________________ Lord Evan Elpuss, Your ideal job is a Lumberjack. |
