|
|
Danny Baker is returning to Radio 5 Live to present six editions of 606, a programme he presented until 1997 when he was sacked for insulting a caller.
I hope this spells Baker's permanent appointment to 606. The shoe has never been the same since he left!

I used to love the breakfast show he presented on the original Radio 5.
I'd therefore like to hear him doing the same on Radio 2. _________________ . . . From The Asteroid Belt, Peter de Meteor |

And may I ask what is wrong with being an East End Barrow Boy? Just because Danny Baker is a Cockney that does not make him an alien.
To be perfectly honest with you Mark, I would much rather hear Danny Baker on Radio 2 than Richard Allinson - even though I adore both broadcasters. |

For a moment I thought the picture looked like Danny DeVito. |

What do you mean refering him to an East Barrow Boy? Your talking nonsense. He was Born in the working class district of Deptford in south east London.

I sincerely hope that Danny Baker's new show on R5 is a complete success and leads to a full workload for him........
...... so that with a bit of luck he'll be far too busy to appear on R2 in any way, shape or form! |

I disagree.
Danny's a good Presenter and has a good sence of humour and should be Chris Evans's holiday cover or take over full time. As Dean Robertson said Danny would be awesome on Drivetime I completely agree with Dean for all the above reasons. |

Er, yeah! Me too! Well done Dan for the R5 gig. Only six weeks mind, but should be fun. I'm no footy fan, but he gives it a very engaging spin. Can't wait. Hope Lesley is taking notes and gets off this Richard Hammond fixation. Caught him this morning and yeah, while I can appreciate he's pretty non-offensive, neither does he set the dial on fire and offer a must-listen breakfast show. _________________ Who Can Take A Sunrise, Sprinkle It With Dew... |

Lady B, I reckon The Candy Man will be back on 606 permanently after his stint! Clearly, he has always been the best man for the job! |

What, for an hour a week? Danny Baker's show will go out between 22.00 - 23.00 Sundays. But I guess you'll be too busy listening to Malcolm Laycock, eh Scotty? |

Funny, that's just how Scotty would have put it.

I daresay he will be back. Check out the banning thread. About 90% of those banned members are Scott! |

Wot - you mean he hasn't already spoofed his IP address and re-registered? Dammit. Wot's the world coming to, eh Miss? _________________ ONline, ONdigital and ONtherocks: BBC Radio 2. Eleanor Rigby, wearing the face that she keeps in a jar by the door. |

That's probably how he managed to creep back on here (and virtually elsewhere he's been banned from) in the first place. |

I think this is why the BBC were powerless to stop Scotty and his gang of trolls on the old Radio 2 messageboard. Disguised IP addresses and other members posting by proxy. |

Disgraceful. It just ruins it for everybody else, that's what I say. It should be outlawed. _________________ ONline, ONdigital and ONtherocks: BBC Radio 2. Eleanor Rigby, wearing the face that she keeps in a jar by the door. |
