|
|
So, Piers Morgan is interested in joining Radio 2's "big line-up". After seeing him on Question Time a few weeks back, I think he would be awesome on the 12.00 - 2.00pm slot.
He was brilliant on Question Time and would certainly transform Radio 2's weekday lunchtime slot into something topical and lively. I wasn't keen on Piers a while back, but after seeing him on Question Time, I think he's alright.
He knows how to get people heated in a debate! |

I didn't take to him at first but I agree with Deano, I think he would be good at getting some straight answers from people on something like the Vine show - look out Jeremy!
He was on the Big Show (which is loved by all) last week and he came across as an all right guy. He knows he's been lucky and it may not last. _________________ Johnnie Walker read out my message on Pirate Radio! 13/8/07

Hear, hear. His vain attempts at becoming the very thing he sought to demonise in his time in charge of the Mirror is quite pathetic.
So right up Douglas' street no doubt! |

That's how he likes to come across, but his actions suggest otherwise. He's quite a vicious, deceitful person.
I don't see how he can possibly replace Jeremy. Vine may spout rubbish at times, but at least he appears to be 'clean' and has no vendettas. And let's not forget Morgan's C4 chatshow was the very first TV programme on the big 4 channels to officially register zero viewers! |

Seems to me that most Celebrities who appear on the Big Show eventually get some part to play on Radio 2? |

I like Piers Morgan. He would make a good current affairs host on R2. I don't know what people have against celebrity hosts - let's face it, many of Radio 2's old time brigade came from Variety and Music Hall backgrounds. Even JY was a crooner before presenting radio shows. _________________ ONline, ONdigital and ONtherocks: BBC Radio 2. Eleanor Rigby, wearing the face that she keeps in a jar by the door. |

I know he was a Editor for the Mirror, but this doesn't title him to work on Radio 2 or any other radio station? |

Piers Morgan isn't a celebrity - he should know, he's done several books and TV shows about how no-one cares about celebrities and he certainly isn't one, oh no, not him... |

You mean his head is wedged in the same place as Steve Wright's? |

Why? Jeremy Vine came from Newsnight and is a journalist by training. So what qualifies him for the job and not Morgan? _________________ ONline, ONdigital and ONtherocks: BBC Radio 2. Eleanor Rigby, wearing the face that she keeps in a jar by the door. |

Chris Moyles was slagging off Piers Morgan this morning. Then he started slagging off Amanda Holden but sang Les Dennis' praises!
Clearly, Piers has a lot of critics out there - which is why I think he would be electric on Radio 2!
Get rid of Jeremy WHINE and replace with Piers Morgan! |

Piers is becoming more of a Reality TV host. I wish some would stop wanting to replace broadcasters with someone else. The station is fine with the present staff. |

More like "guest" and "co-host". Like everyone, he needs his own career rather than be on Simon Cowell's leash. I think he's involving into being a good broadcaster.

I wish that were the case. Sadly it isn't, in my opinion. _________________ ONline, ONdigital and ONtherocks: BBC Radio 2. Eleanor Rigby, wearing the face that she keeps in a jar by the door. |

That's not true. My friend did one of his shows and the way he spoke to her in real life (nice, friendly) was the exact opposite of how he portrayed her on TV where he lied about why she was on the show and how she'd got there. And this was apparently a documentary about real-life.
Even on Britains Got Talent, Piers invariably says whatever he can to be contrary to Simon Cowell. Rarely do you get an idea of what he really thinks. |

That's because he trained as a Fleet Street hack. You have to adopt that position when drilling into evasive politicians. That's why I think he'd be good on a lunchtime R2 current affairs show. _________________ ONline, ONdigital and ONtherocks: BBC Radio 2. Would he really be that bad though? He is a good interviewer, whatever people think of him personally. Would he be any worse than Steve Wright, for example? _________________ His name was ernie ........ and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west..... |

Piers is a marvellous broadcaster. He would have made a good replacement for Michael Parkinson. Michael Ball is too luvvy-luvvy. |

That's funny because Scott sang Michael's praises on here. Mind you, he does change his mind like the winds. He now wants his hero Mo Dutta axed. |

I seem to recall our Scotty calling for the proverbial axe to fall on the head of the "old fart" that is Parky. But, of course, I could be mistaken somewhat. _________________ ONline, ONdigital and ONtherocks: BBC Radio 2. Eleanor Rigby, wearing the face that she keeps in a jar by the door. |

No, you have Miss Understood me!
I was talking about Scotty praising Michael Ball, not Parky!
According to the banning thread, one of Scott's bannings last year was hijacking the Parky thread on Parky's last day. |

Only if he doesn't press the button and get the callers off quickly, like he does with the contestants on the American Talent show. |
