I caught part of his programme when I was cooking in the kitchen on Sunday night. Is it me, or does he ramble a lot more now between the tracks he plays? Saying that, I did find quite a bit of it somewhat amusing! Russell has developed a dry sense of humour.
Perhaps it's about time his programme was extended to a 2-hour one, say Sundays, 10.00pm - midnight? If the programme was broadcast live, I think Russell would interact very well with his listeners by text and e-mail.
Sorry, but I think it's about time David Jacobs was axed. He, and his programme, is sounding so stale these days. At least Russell would compensate for the demise of David Jacobs.
Any thoughts? |

By the way, he played 'Old McDonald' by Frank Sinatra. I'm not a fan of Sinatra by any means, but I think the track sounded okay. |

I liked Russell Davies' show when he was on Sunday afternoon. Unfortunately, I don't listen to R2 at night...
How about him replacing that complete waste of time Dermott mumbling O'Leary on Saturday? now that would be an improvement.. _________________ Johnnie Walker read out my message on Pirate Radio! 13/8/07

Scott,
Did you save that message from 2004 archive file?
Russell Davies has ALWAYS rambled, ALWAYS been amusing, ALWAYS had a dry sense of humour, and he let Lesley Douglas know about it!
David Jacob's show is as good as ever.
When are you going to comment on shows you know something about?

Russell Davies let his feelings be known when he was moved to Sunday nights in January 2007. He even pulled the plug on his weekly competition as he deemed it a "waste of time now the show is no longer broadcast during the daylight hours."
Clearly, Russell was unhappy about being moved to Sunday nights, but I think it's all worked out well. |

I very rarely get to listen during the evenings as well, but on the odd occasion when I have I've always found Russell very interesting and DJ is as sublime and professional as he has always been - the perfect way to wind down the end of the weekend.
I have caught a brief earful of Dermot a couple of times recently, and I could barely understand what he was saying - he does gabble and mumble (on the radio), and I'm sure the affliction is a lot worse than it used to be - even the dedication to mark o was in such a throwaway fashion that you could have easily missed it. _________________ Ron |
