Hi Clive. I remember Guy Michell singing 'Rock-A-Billy' back in the fifties! Also Bob Luman (with James Burton in his band) before 'Let's think about living' hit big for him did some great rock-a-billy songs. I'll give the show a listen. Thanks! |

I think this show may have been on before? I certainly recorded a Radio2 show about 18 months ago maybe.
Anyway my mindisc player has bit the dust so I'll be recording this one too - I love Rock-a-billy. Thanks Clive! _________________ Johnnie Walker read out my message on Pirate Radio! 13/8/07

Bound to be some Stray Cats palyed. I couldn't believe how good the track was they had in the charts back in the 80s ( forgot the name.. )
When Mark Lamarr's Rock & Roll show was on a few years back, I found it hard to turn the radio off when he played some Rockabilly tracks so I'd wash the car even if it didn't need it!
Having said that, I also find it hard to switch off Planet Rock sometimes... _________________ Johnnie Walker read out my message on Pirate Radio! 13/8/07

Certainly, didn't they do Rockabilly Rebel? although I preferred "Buzz Buzz a' Diddle it"
They were good but Stray Cats had the edge i thought... _________________ Johnnie Walker read out my message on Pirate Radio! 13/8/07

Yep- those rockabilly records had sophisticated lyrics!
I recall those Charley Rockabilly collections they mentioned very well |
