Thank god for the current ban on phone quizzes. It gave us the best Popmaster in ages with Tim Vine and Rob Brydon.
Didn't do a tap of work until it finished, nearly half an hour later!!
Hard to keep track of who was the real Ken. Great stuff _________________ "Timpani!, Timpani!, They've all got it Timpani!"- All drummers know the pain of skin trouble. |

Yes just had a listen again.
Very entertaining with Rob as always doing a better Ken Bruce than Ken himself.
Quite impressed with Tim's version of Jeremy Vine aswell.
Overall it made me laugh for a good 20-25 minutes _________________ The Voice of reason in a MAD MAD world |

I hate to disagree with previous posters and please don't take this personally but I thought that this was the most puerile rubbish that I have heard for a very long time.
I love Popmasters but would rather they rested it altogether than forced anything more like this morning's effort on to us.

I suspected my comments might upset the applecart a bit but I stand by them.
Funny you should mention parties--next year I've got one of those milestone birthdays and am thinking about having a party. Should I go ahead? Do you think anyone will come?

I had it on but was busy doing various humdrum things and not paying full attention. I did hear Ken mention Chic Murray, though, which is usually a sign that things are getting out of hand _________________ Ron |

Have been listening to the Mr Pop Muppet today-still as bland, boring as normal. However who is the new traffic presenter alongside Bruce-a real breath of fresh air with a good sense of humour.
Lets hear more from this guy going forward. |

This week's traffic man is Nick Duncalf. He just seems to come on now and again. But I agree that he's got lots of potential and look forward to his next appearance. Shall see if I can get a couple of minutes to do a websearch on him.

I thought Nick dealt with his coughing fit on Bruce's show very well earlier today-he took the mickey out of himself nicely-the guy has a great sense of humour-give him more airtime -at the expense of Lynn Bowles maybe. |

Yes, he usually does traffic on Radio 2 while Bobbie's in Edinburgh in August. He's married to the actress Katherine Jakeways, who has appeared in Extras (amongst other things). |

I agree,
I think Nick Duncalfe is really good, and has a good personality.
PS why is Bobbi in Edinburgh? |

She's a promoter of some shows and performers at the Fringe:

I'm sorry that we can't get the usual format of Popmasters back but can see no purpose in this 'celebrity' version. All inane chatter and not enough actual question answering. What's it all for?

Ian - it's to keep the format of the show whilst the BBC finishes flagellating itself over competitions. Hopefully eventually the review will be completed, the appropriate people whipped and we can have all the competitions back. |

I'm finding these 'celebrity' Popmasters far more fun to listen to than the usual phone in jobs. This is strange as I usually detest anything to do with celebs, but this time it actually seems to work.
Long may the phone compo ban continue. |

Sorry to dig up and old thread but is there anywhere or anybody who has a copy of the Celeb Popmaster with Tim Vine and Rob Brydon. I enjoyed it so much first time round and would love to hear it again but I can't for the life of me find it anywhere on the web.
Any help would be much appreciated. |
