Best score 126048! Very therapeutic - I will never forgive her for Evans and Brand. Love the way she bounces on her head, good job there's nothing in it to damage... _________________ MiS |

170684! What a way to start the day, taking out one's rage on the woman who brought Radio 2 down to the gutter with Russell Brand. _________________ MiS |

I got 170,384 just before turning in last night. Not just Radio 2, she's doing the same over on 6 music. Have you heard those trailers for George Lamb's show? And take a glance at the thread that bears his name on the 6 music message boards. I wonder how far I'll boot her today, he says, not in anyway advocating violence towards women - well not normally! _________________ Lord Evan Elpuss, Your ideal job is a Lumberjack. |

I don't listen to that which I don't like either and that's rather more than just Evans. I find I'm now listening to Radio 2 less & less and, if Iain Smith's prediction in a previous message on another thread turns out to be true, then nowhere will this be more apparent than on Saturdays, when once I never wanted to 'get out more' on a Saturday because there was so much good stuff on. Remember the days when this was the Saturday line up? Because I was working on Saturday mornings, I invariably missed Mo Dutta & Sounds Of The 60s and I was woken up by Janey Lee Grace as I was on an early shift. The only show I'd turn off was Jonathan Ross, the music might be good but the 'banter' just isn't for me. Then R2 would be on continuously from the Comedy hour which had gems like News Huddlines included in it; POTP; Richard Allinson; Paul Gambaccini; at one time I think Jack Docherty had Saturday Night Jack and later it was Stuart Maconie's original Critical List; a live gig / documentary and finally Bob Harris until I just had to give in and go to bed. Then along came one Lesley Douglas who just had to start tinkering & tinkering with it some more until we get the mess we have now. If our very own 'Nostradamus' is right then from next month I'll be switching off from the end of SOTS right up until Bob Harris at 11:00pm. I don't expect to like everything I hear on a radio station but no-one should have to switch off for the best part of the day, especially at the behest of an inept controller. Once I might have tried 6 music, however she's messed that right up as well, with a weekend schedule more or less filled with less than funny (IMO) comedians & their various 'yes-men / women' paid to laugh on cue. One wag on their message boards suggested that the station's name be changed to '6 chat' or perhaps '6 comedy'. The only saving grace there on a Saturday daytime is Liz Kershaw. Perhaps BBC7 should now be catering for the former Radio 2/ 6 music audience, with the music being played by real DJs. But don't put Lesley Douglas in charge of it,!! Here's a snapshot of Radio 2's better days (especially saturdays) http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio2/events/newcastle/index.shtml
Go on Ernie, have a go, you know she deserves it!! http://www.pictogame.com/play/game/UGgdpwBcy4VD_kick-girl I've just got 126,047, a long way from my personal best! _________________ Lord Evan Elpuss, Your ideal job is a Lumberjack. |

LEE,
I'm not having a go at you, but I just cant get that worked up anymore over what the BBC put on any of their channels TBH. I dip into mainly BBC4 on tv and a bit of Radio 4 and 2 on radio. Apart from that I can find plenty of other stuff on other non-BBC stations on tv and radio to entertain. _________________ His name was ernie ........ and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west..... |

I didn't think you were having a go at me really. I'm glad you've found plenty of alternative stuff when Radio 2 doesn't satisfy. My rant above wasn't really at you personally. Just at what that berluddy woman has done to R2. I think I've said this before somewhere, but never mind, why not say it again? When Matthew Bannister decided that I & my generation was too old for Radio 1, at least I had somewhere to go - Radio 2 and that served me well for several years until that Douglas woman came along and started fixing what wasn't really broken. 6 music might have been an alternative but she's been doing the same over there. I like music and more than just the latest boy / girl bands & X factor winners so that rules out most ILR stations. I don't really want long segways either as I like to be told what I've just heard played. There's only so much political debate I can stand (not much) so that all but rules out R4. Are Just A Minute and I'm sorry I Haven't A Clue still on there? Certainly R3 won't fill my needs as I'm not a classical / jazz music buff. So where to go? _________________ Lord Evan Elpuss, Your ideal job is a Lumberjack. |
