Considering he writes the stories, why does John Marsh feel he has to fall about in fits of laughter as if it's the first time he's heard them? _________________ Ron |

I don't think John Marsh writes them. I thought it was Mick Sturbs from the TOGS board?

It's not John Marsh who writes them but Mick Sturbs. I do think it's time that Terry stopped putting on that voice when it comes to John's parts. I have both the 'Janet & John' cds and the original one was the funniest with the stories all done in Terry's normal voice. _________________ Lord Evan Elpuss, Your ideal job is a Lumberjack. |

Correct 'Mick Sturbs' (not his real name of course) writes all the J+J stories.
I too wish Terry would not put on the voice, plus I think the stories are getting a bit wearing now. |

Perhaps an occasional story only would suffice now--except, of course, that the CDs are good Children in Need fundraisers.

The other morning Terry put the voice on so much it was hard to understand what he was actually saying. |

I understand that the third one is to be put out today. When I first heard the stories I was doubled up with laughter, but now they tend to be very predictable. Still, they raise a lot of money for Children in Need and that's what it's all about.

I think the J&J stories are ok, some are quite funny.
However, the show is going downhill at a pace at the moment. I'm absolutely fed up of hearing the same poems about the Welsh travel totty from Splot (or however it's spelt) and Clarks Pies and all that rubbish. It's just like Groundhog Day.
Even some of the pseudonyms are getting incredulous now. I know Tel relies on the listeners contributions but isn't about time this listener participation was scrapped. Even a variation in music would be something instead of the daily Melua/Crouse/Cassidy dirge.
Think I might have to listen to Moylesy |

I'm currently sticking with Planet Rock in the mornings with Alice Cooper!
To hear "Red House" by Jimi Hendrix whist brushing my knashers this morning was simply great compared to the Melua/Crouse/Cassidy dirge as you mentioned. _________________ Johnnie Walker read out my message on Pirate Radio! 13/8/07

He apparently gets over 8 million listeners a day so somebody must like it I used to listen but to be honest I got bored with the same old stuff everyday.
I still like Terry though, great bloke, still unbeatable on Eurovision |

Oh dear... I'm going to be contrary again and say I prefer Ken Bruce on Eurovision. Terry's great but Ken's better! A pity they don't do the radio commentary through the telly...
I don't really listen to Terry's show nowadays either (Radio Lancashire for me) so I've no idea where these 8m listeners are! |

Well that's ok, it would be boring if we all liked the same things I like Ken too but prefer Terry on Eurovision.
Tel is on The Paul O'Grady show tonight, I might watch, he's usually very funny when he goes on there. |

Was at home yesterday and hence heard Janet and John for the first time in a few months. Or should I say 'tried to hear', as I could hardly discern a word because of all the studio laughter.

I don't often hear J and J now because of an adjustment to my work arrangements. But Mrs W reckoned that both this week's stories were pretty predictable--not that she could hear much of them over all the studio laughter.
Time for a rest?

I still think the 'Janet & John' stories went downhill when Terry started putting on voices for John's parts. On the first of the J&J CDs, all of the tales are done in Terry's own voice and, to me, are far funnier for that IMO. _________________ Lord Evan Elpuss, Your ideal job is a Lumberjack. |
