I wonder for how much longer will the BBC continue to use the Pips as a time check for the top of the hour.
With the digital age we are living in, I suspect for not much longer I would hazard a guess. |

The problem is timings, and the producer should shout in the presenters ears to hurry up. Some of the songs on the computers can't always finish on time. Maybe they should be dropped whilst DAB is working alongside FM as there is a slight delay and this is when people do moan.
I still think it's just a little bit of fun anyway and people have got better things to moan about whether the pips will run on time. |

Bring back Gladys Knight. At least she made the Pips run on time. |

JW had to fill in for 20 seconds or so yesterday morning due to a track finishing earlier than expected? _________________ Author: “To the Ends of the Earth: A Snapshot of Aviation in North-Eastern Siberia, Summer 1992”

The problem with the digital age, be it DAB or Digital TV, they are not on the hour but approx 4 seconds late they don't seem to be trying to sort that out. |

I have DAB radio in the Kitchen & bedroom & the old fashioned sort in the living room. Moving between the kitchen & living room, it feels like one is in echoe land |

I quite agree. When I am busy like to have sets on in all rooms so that I can continue what I'm doing and not loose the plot (I'm a woman so I can multi-task!!). The problem with digital and analogue is that you get a delayed echo, which is most frustrating. Now have to decide which I'm going to have on and then leap about from room to room!!

Yes, they should sort it out by broadcasting everything 4 seconds in the future! |

The pips are not really used much on radio 2 though are they? However they are used every hour on radio 4 and the world service, the latter 2 seem to have no problems with timings |

I get that "echoe" problem with all the stations between DAB sets & analogue.
Going from the kitchen to the living room I'll miss something, going from the living room to the kitchen it is deja vu- i hear the last few words repeated |
