Couldnt they get Janey Lee Grace to do it. She used to be good at reading out text and email messages in the middle of the night. _________________ His name was ernie ........ and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west..... |

Both Tim Smith and Janey Lee Grace are on Christmas leave. I had no idea Pete Mitchell had been ill. Colin Berry must have been a last minute replacement due to short notice over the festive period.
Get well soon, Pete! |

Tim Smith did midnight - 2am on Radio Oxford on Boxing Day so he is obviously in big demand over the holidays. _________________ His name was ernie ........ and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west..... |

Really? A 2-hour show? WOW! He MUST be popular in Oxford!
Maybe he hosts "The Perfumed Garden"? |

Scott-Iistened to the Tim Smith show on Radio Oxford.
I have to say without Steve Wright in the same studio the show was not too bad.
Perhaps Tim wants to break free from Steve Wright a little and be his own man. |

Mark,
I don't mind Tim Smith solo but he does grate on my after a while. If he was to have his own show on Radio 2 then I imagine it would be an overnight one. But I doubt he would ever be a ratings success! |

Well, I'm listening to CB standing in for PM at the last minute on 'Listen Again' - he started well: "some great music, like this from Steps..." _________________ Author: “To the Ends of the Earth: A Snapshot of Aviation in North-Eastern Siberia, Summer 1992”

Not many of the err'ss. Well Newsreaders shouldn't do that. I like someone asking him " Why do all newreaders called after food names" His reply they try employ names of food to make it different. |

"Listen Again" came up with a General Error about 45 minutes into CB's sit-in (although that may have had something to do with the fact that I was trying to play "Il-2 Sturmovik: 1946" at the same time on the PC as well....!
Steps must have been an aborration: the playlist improved after that.
I will always think of him now as "Colin <sharp intake of breath> Berry <sharp intake of breath>".... it was becoming a little off-putting after a while. _________________ Author: “To the Ends of the Earth: A Snapshot of Aviation in North-Eastern Siberia, Summer 1992”
