We've had quite a bit of snow in these parts today. This led to my choir practice this evening being called off, which in turn resulted in my watching Mastermind and University Challenge.
Two progammes, no doubt recorded at different times in different locations, both asked the same question, on where Jack Russell terriers got their name. What are the odds of that happening?

Hi Ian,
How weird! I saw University Challenge and heard the question, 2 good teams shame they were up against each other.
Heard about your snow as well, my mum was out in it.

I've noticed the duplication of questions thing quite often recently, usually between Mastermind and Weakest Link. Got sidetracked last night and missed most of UC - might have to investigate this new BBC i-player thing.
Weather wise, the UK appears to be right on the edge of things - the South (including here) has been very mild but very wet right up until the early hours of this morning and then there was a hard frost. I don't know if it's any consolation to those suffering flooding at the moment but 15-20 years ago I suspect all that rain would have fallen as snow, as, indeed, it appears to have done yesterday in Scotland and the north-east. _________________ Ron |

All quiz shows use specialist question setters. It might just be that the shows use the same person(s) to set the questions. _________________ His name was ernie ........ and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west..... |

Were you thinking about the movie 'Cry Wolf' at all, where a scientist named Jack Russell turns into a dog?
As there's also a cricketer of that name, I picture a dog on the pitch in full whites! _________________ We made a land where crap is king and the good don't last for long.
