From the Sun newspaper today-"Presenter Terry Wogan, 69, waited six hours to have a punctured tyre fixed on his mercedes at the BBC's London HQ car park".
Welcome Terry to the real world.
I wonder if he will comment on this "event" when he next broadcasts. |

Pathetic. I can't believe somebody in the BBC couldn't change the wheel for him! what a strange world this is turning out to be. _________________ Johnnie Walker read out my message on Pirate Radio! 13/8/07

Lol! sounds like Mercedes roadside assistance is not so good when it comes to the assistance part.
Poor old Tel, he should have used his Bentley instead.

It was not so simple as just changing the wheel for the spare Santa, it would appear from his rant on Friday that the spare wheel had either the wrong bolts or the holes in the spare wheel where the wrong size to accept the wheel bolts from the normal wheel. Trouble was neither Mercedes or Mercedes Roadside Assistance seemed capable of overcoming the problem so they sent for a truck to take it to the workshop, which when it arrived was not large enough to take the Wogan limo. All in all a right cock up and I am not surprised he was not happy, I expect he will be trading the Merc in for a Lexus or Jag now.

Has anyone heard him do one of those cars adverts which is being broadcast on Commerical Radio at present...
Ken and him at a banter between them at the handover. Ken said 'Next time phone me up if you want a lift on my bus, and then Ken asked him if he has a Oyster Card.
Mark M you should listen without reading garbage the Sun sometimes writing to fill the paper.. |

I buy the Sun newspaper once a week on a Saturday because it has the best football covearage of any of the daily newspapers. I certainly don't think the paper is garbage-if it was why would I buy it.
By the way isn't the Sun the most popular newspaper in the UK. |

Mercedes are obviously immune to bad publicity - Jeremy Clarkson has also in his time suffered at the hands of their service and assistance and publicised it - but then I suppose they don't have to try too hard to sell the cars. _________________ Ron |
