An appeal hearing has agreed to Kenny Richey's release from prison after the Scot spent 20 years on death row.
Richey, who has come within an hour of execution, was convicted in 1987 for a fire which killed a toddler, but last August that conviction was overturned.

I bet it will take him sometime to get his life back. The media will be hounding him like a dog for a story. |

These cases and the reporting of them annoy me, not all questions get answered. I've not read all the links but he's quoted as denying murdering the child, but has he answered the question 'Did you start the fire?'
What evidence is there that he started the fire? If there is no evidence then of course he'll say and go on saying that he didn't start it.... and eventually they will let him go.
In US law what does 'no contest' mean? And why was it not 'no contest' 20 years ago?
If he was really innocent can't he sue the US law system? Or was part of the bargain that he would not.... |
