Nasty fire at the Royal Marsden Hospital yesterday. It must have been traumatic for all involved.
But all credit to the management and staff for a calm and orderly evacuation. They must have a good and well-rehearsed procedure.

Indeed. The relatively low-key reporting of the incident reflects the apparent efficient evacuation and the absence of casualties (just a few for smoke inhalation).
An update on efforts to get part of the hospital back in commission:- http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/london/7169456.stm _________________ Ron |

Scary though it must have been I was so impressed with how the whole hospital was evacuated so efficently and calmly.
Imagine being in the middle of an operation though, horrible moment not only for the poor patient but the surgeon too.
Hope it is not too long beofre it is all up and running again, sounds like the damage is perhaps not as bad as first thought which is good news. |
