I am sorry but I find Kylie's honour obscene, what about all the unsung heros that have battled and beaten cancer, where are they? She had the money and the musical industry's support to not have to go on any waiting list, to see the top specialist's anywhere in the world, when she wanted to, so she got the best and most modern treatment a vailable; so just how come this is such insperation to millions? I tell you what, my mother's winning fight with breast cancer is so much more inspirational to me, especially as she just went back to work without the round of sychophantic interviews telling her just how brave she was, once she was well enough.

I thought Kylie's OBE was for services to music and nothing to do with her beating breast cancer.
I'm not saying I agree with the award but as she is in the public eye I guess the round of interviews was inevitable.
I was glad to hear of the lovely George Alagiah getting an OBE but baffled about Des Lynam, oh well. |

My philosophy is to call every man 'Sir' unless or until they prove they are not worthy of the title. D'yis know what I mean, like? |

According to Yahoo news she was awarded the OBE for services to music from the singer who inspired millions with her fight against cancer; I can assure you that any of the MacMillan nurses are a greater inspiration to their cancer patients and their families. It is the headline which makes my blood boil" The Pop Princess, whose brave battle with cancer inspired millions, has been awarded an OBE, in the New Years honours list". To me she is just an average ex - soap actress & singer, I cannot see what she has done for the music business that many of her peers have not.

I got the feeling that Kylie Minogue's OBE was a sympathy vote more than about services to music. _________________ We made a land where crap is king and the good don't last for long.

Sorry Santa it's an old RAF expression and it's not referring to the words it lies directly between, the correct expression is "if you're looking for sympathy, it lies somewhere between **** and syphilis, in the dictionary. In my Oxford dictionary it lies directly between sympathize and sympatric.
