So, I wonder when the BBC Press Office will publish the Christmas 2007 lineup on Radio 2? Will it be full of fun and surprises?
Here's hoping! |

There's an extended Doctor Who-themed version of next week's Kylie documentary, and a couple of comedy specials (but I can't remember who). |

There is around 4 / 5 weeks until Christmas. I would expect the full line up will continue until about 21st December. Then we will have two weeks off skeleton staff. |

Doesn't Bob Harris sit in for Chris Evans on Drivetime? I wonder whether he will this year, given that he'll have only been back in his weekend slot for about three weeks? _________________ Author: “To the Ends of the Earth: A Snapshot of Aviation in North-Eastern Siberia, Summer 1992”

One can only live in hope that Bob is well enough and does it again this year.

I'll save you the bother.
Richard Hammond is doing breakfast on Christmas Eve and from Boxing Day until New Years Day.
Ed Stewart is doing a Junior Choice special on Christmas Eve. Chris Evans is doing a pop quiz later on Christmas Eve.
There are loads of Bob Dylan shows and all the usual other Christmas music specials. The rest of the schedule is the usual filler DJ material as per prior years. _________________ His name was ernie ........ and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west..... |

By the way, interesting to know Ed Stewart is back. I wonder if he's going to replace Michael Parkinson with a general request show? |

Beckham being interviewed on Live Christmas day by Kate Thronton. Submit your questions, and they want us to choose the music for the show. All by the 7th December. I wonder why? Is the show recorded to air, live?

The Radio Times website simply shows Clive Anderson in the slot on Sun 9 Dec.
He's often sat in before so it's not clear whether this is a permanent or ad hoc arrangement.
No disrespect at all to the very talented Mr Anderson but I don't really want more of the same in that slot.
When will we know what's happening?
Ian. |

Quote: | BBC Radio 2 has signed up David Beckham as the centrepiece of its festive schedule - when he will follow the Queen's annual Christmas Day message.
Beckham will answer listener questions in the two-hour show, hosted by Kate Thornton, called David Beckham's Line of Enquiry.
Listeners are being invited to send in questions for the former England captain for the pre-recorded show, which will air at 3pm on Christmas Day, and begin with the Queen's Christmas message.
"David signing up to do this is a real coup. I am merely the ref, and yes, I do know the offside rule," said Thornton, the former presenter of ITV1's The X-Factor.
"We're delighted David has agreed to open himself up and take listeners' questions, so if they have something they want to ask him they can get in touch and get involved." |

Why:
- now
- Beckham
- Thornton
- Christmas Day afternoon
- do they think anybody would be so sad as to email in a question?
- do they think anybody would be so sad as to listen to this on Christmas afternoon?
- not put Mark Lamarr, the anti Christmas, on instead?
- do I care? _________________ His name was ernie ........ and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west..... |

Actually I was a bit rude to you Iain. I think people will be interested in who is covering the daytime slots such as Bruce, Wright & Drive over Christmas _________________ His name was ernie ........ and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west..... |

It was last night - review is already half done, probably get it finished tomorrow evening when I've got time to listen to the rest of the show. Lots of new music played, plenty I hadn't heard of but liked enormously. _________________ Author: “To the Ends of the Earth: A Snapshot of Aviation in North-Eastern Siberia, Summer 1992”

Yes Cherskiy, it was brilliant, I was so impressed, I stayed up to listen till 2. I must listen more to Raising Sand as the more I hear it, the more it grows on me. I am looking forward to your review, especially what you think of Alison Krauss & Robert Plant; did you hear the interview on JW earlier?

Will you get your Chocs and Champers before Christmas day as it's pre-recorded? Also this will mean Steve is recording it on Saturday or Sunday? Busy man after having to record the normal Sunday show.. Instead of Bacon Sarnies it will be Salmon ones.. |

I am beginning to think that the schedulers are losing the plot. First Beckham on Christmas Day and now this.
PS. Chris Evans did this show LIVE two years ago. Course he is hosting the reception for his ex-wife this year so he isn't available... _________________ His name was ernie ........ and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west..... |
