I said Vic Reeves was dreadful well this excuse for a Comedy comes a close second.
Dire is not the word.
Dull, depressing and turgid spring to mind.
2 people in a pie shop having the dullest conversation i can imagine.
A group of lads moaning in a monotone voice that they can't go out together.
Then one of them wrote a song for his girlfriend which was horrendous and i had to give in and switch off.
Out To Lunch was poor but this and the Vic Reeves attempt at comedy left me well and truly lost for words.
The Navy Lark
Tim Vine
ANYTHING to replace this.
Listening figures must plummett before poor old Dermot comes along.
I'm surprised any one is left at 2 to carry on listening.
Can i ask anyone who missed these 2 to just listen again and say it isn't me. _________________ The Voice of reason in a MAD MAD world |

I think listening figures overall on a Saturday afternoon must plummet from 1.00pm. The Comedy Hour is atrocious. Why not have the first half airing classic comedy and the second half airing the new-age rubbish? The Comedy Hour is nowhere near as good as it used to be. In fact, it's got worse.
Dermot O'Leary is nothing to shout about, either. He sounds like a cheesy night-time ILR jock. Why Lesley Douglas hasn't axed him is beyond me. Stuart Maconie was much better on that slot.
Bring back Richard Allinson. |

I LOVE Flight of the Conchords, it's really funny and an enjoyable half hour.
My girlfriend hates it though! I have to listen alone... |

Ian.
Each to their own as the saying goes.
This is quote
A Musical odyssey about a novelty band.
(From Radio 2 today)
I found nothing novel, interesting, entertaining or worth listening to in the 10 minutes i tuned in.
The 2 people having a meal and discussing pies and what is the best thing you are good at , was presented in such a dull and boring way i would have fallen asleep in the company of these 2.
They could bore for England.
The group arguing about not going out for a lads night again was just so lame and unimaginative.
If this was a 5 minute sketch i may have listened but sadly nothing would and will make me listen to this or that Vic Reeves apparent COMEDY SKETCH show before it _________________ The Voice of reason in a MAD MAD world |

Ian.
On the POV board a woman said
Do the people who commission this rubbish actually ever listen to it.
She also sais she had to switch off the Vic Reeves programme as it reminded her of 7 year olds in the playground.
I still say each to their own but i have found no one singing its praises at all. _________________ The Voice of reason in a MAD MAD world |

and yet... it's been remade as a series in America that's got decent ratings and won awards (you can see it here on BBC4). So they must be appealing to someone! |
