What role will I actually play? The Camp Christmas Fairy (a la Frankie Howard in Carry On Christmas, 1969)? |

I think Paul (Admin) should play Ricky Gervais. Lady Boil De Spudswell should play Danny Baker. |

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Catastrophe! How could you have missed me out? The more so as I've already been in a panto this year--two lines as a crowd member in Babes in the Wood, together with the singing and dancing required of a chorus member.
Yes, I know it's only November but our Panto is always on in October half-term week, when we can hire the local High School and have the complete run of the place.
My very first foray into pantomime was way back at Christmas 1971, when, as a member of the Isle of Thanet 18 Plus Group, I played the Fairy Godmother in an adult version of Sinderella to raise funds for charity--yes, that spelling is correct and aptly related to the content. It was and still is unusual for that particular role to cross genders. I wonder what they were trying to tell me!

Nod and Ian, and MM, my sincere apologies for the oversight. My grandchildren kept phoning me up and I was distracted!
Ian, you will play Brian Matthew if you wish, (On Listen Again of course!)
Nod, you must bring two friends with you. (winkin and blinkin)
Mark Mayhew will play a certain DJ. (Who could it be?) |

My pleasure.
Funnily enough, I lived in BM's home town, Coventry, from 1972 to 1976 and one of my best mates of the era was a fellow former pupil of his old school, Bablake.

I'm delighted with the casting, as long as it's Joanna Lumley in her Avengers guise and not as the pi**ed old slapper in Ab Fab!

Briant-Thanks for including me-I appreciate it.
It would be a honour to be cast as Richard Allinson-all I need now is his money, his intelligence, his connections in the music industry, his musical knowledge and his fantastic sense of humour.
In all other respects I can be his stunt double. |

I would be grateful if I'm not Matt Lucas. I wouldn't mind being John Cleese. I'm about as tall as him. I would recreate the film Clock-wise. Cleese likes too irritate people in his shows like Fawlty Towers. |

I do not think it was cleese that likes to irritate people in the faulty tower. It was other people which irritated him durely. And I like the waiter from Espana, yes! Ola Manuel! |

Ola Matt. The pantomime is a British tradition like fish and chips. The men sometimes dress as women and the women wear shorts and fishnet tights and slap their thighs with gusto. That is not a cleaning agent, by the way. There is lots of singing and dancing and all ends well eventually. A bit like this message board, we hope! |

How come the men like to dress as the women, is this not a bit strange for you english? I think so it may be, yes!
We like fish and the chips here too. The fish we call Pescados, and the chips are called the Patatas Fritas (the fried potato). |

Ola Matt. I think I will write a song about this subject for the pantomime. We will all sing it at the finale when the curtain comes down and the inquest begins. This is what we call 'show biz' and 'being catty' especially when Dick Whittington is involved. |
