So (according to Mo D this morning, OK I was listening because I woke up early!) the police don't investigate up to 4/10 crimes and in some areas they don't solve 2/3 of burglaries (they may not even turn up , I was half asleep so don't remember it all)
...but I am sure we can be consold by the fact they probably get a speeding ticket from the 'safety' camera we are led to believe will solve all crime problems , but then again it could be your car they nicked in the burglary and you'll probably have to pay the £60 !! |

When my car got nicked a few years back I reported it to the old bill. They gave me the usual crime number and that was that. Then I found it parked up (having had the locks jemmied open and the ignition crow-barred) a few streets away - fuel tank empty. Thankfully, on a late night return home the night before I couldn't be bothered to refuel and it was dangerously low. That was obviously the reason they abandoned the car.
I called the Police and he suspected that I'd only gone through this cycle of reporting in order to "do an insurance job". He didn't accuse me directly, he just insinuated it by saying that's what peope do. I reminded him who was paying his salary and slammed the phone down.
Public service, eh? |

I've had my car damaged a couple of times in the last couple of years, when I reported it they were more interested in my colour and sexual orientation to fill in their forms |

Some years ago my late mother's car was vandalised. Nobody was ever caught but, praise be, she was offered counselling.
I'd probably be modded if I quoted her reply verbatim!

Counselling! how rediculous. I heard of somebody around here who was offered counselling after their hubcaps were taken!! more PC and H&S orientated tripe. _________________ Johnnie Walker read out my message on Pirate Radio! 13/8/07
