Its the only show they days that makes me laugh, apart from ocassionally Sarah or Terry. Bruce makes me groan, Wright makes me cringe, Vine makes me despair.
Evans has the wonderfully silly office news, last week we had the coneman, and we have great banter with Johnnie, Sally & the Fox.
If Evans was to leave drivetime, the station would lose probably the only really entertaining & original daytime show that it now possesses.
In years to come we will look back on Evans drivetime in the same way people look back at Terry's 70's shows & Kenny Everett's 80's shows.
Thats my 5 cents worth anyway. |
Looks more like ten penneth to me ernie

And another thing. The Juke Box Jury feature is great. Although how Katie Melua managed to sneak it as a hit, I'll never understand. _________________ His name was ernie ........ and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west..... |

Could you imagine Chris Evans, Russell Brand, Davina McCall, Jonathan Ross, Andy Davies, Elaine Paige and Steve Wright all together in the same studio? The noise would burst your eardrums with them shouting and shrieking at each other along with Wright, Paige and Andy Davies all giggling like a bunch of demented hyenas. Still, what's new? |

Well to quote BB, he said you quoted him quoting something FWF had actually quoted, or to quote exactly, "it was not me that quoted me as quoting you" see?
or was it something you quoted in the first place?...
anyway, the Juke Box Jury thing is hardly cutting edge stuff is it? _________________ Johnnie Walker read out my message on Pirate Radio! 13/8/07

I was on the forums a couple of weeks ago ranting on a thread about Evans ALWAYS talking over a song when it's nowhere near the end. Ok, now and then is alright, but every song? Particularly during this 'great' feature, which has been done many times ago on other shows. If he could shut up for 3 minutes, let you poor listeners hear the whole song, then you could judge. And pray that the democratic phone voting works. That's my 5 cents. |

He can't bear for the airwaves to be without the sound of his voice for more than a couple of seconds, such is his ego. It's the reason I really can't listen to the berk. I mean, really! |

Chris Evans is just as bad as Steve Wright when it comes to talking over the tops of records and interrupting them with daft sound effects (something the talentless Sarah Kennedy also does). Both Evans and Wright show utter contempt towards music and would much rather be listening to the sounds of their own voice instead. This is why weekdays between 2.00 - 7.00pm are a no-go zone for me - and many others.
I suggest both Chris Evans and Steve Wright bugger off to Radio 5 Live or Talk Sport where they can talk to their heart's content. |

Especially if one of the studio techs "forgot" to plug the mic in. |

His hair isn't fully ginger now since the days of the Big Breakfast, Dont Forget My Toothbrush and TFI Friday. I never watched DFMT, but the other two I did and were really brillant. |

So if you don't listen you can't comment on his daily show and what gfloyd is discussing about him on this forum. I'm correct, hey? |

Mark, whenever I hear Chris Evans it's the same banal crap spewing from his mouth. The same applies to Sarah Kennedy, Steve Wright, Jonathan Ross and Russell Brand. |

I don't need to listen to a whole show (I'm not a masochist, after all!). A couple of seconds of hearing his unbearable voice is enough to remind me of what's bad about Evans and his banal "show". |

And people say Danny Baker is bad! |

The TFI studios? Riverside, Hammersmith, actually... that's where the original "Friday Evening Ego" TV shows were produced. |

Yes. It flopped when those who use viagra "couldn't get it up." I guess this is where the term "floppy dick" [or floppy disk] originates from. Or, the show was axed because it was such a "flop". |

Tell me you're joking, Mark. Please. Has network radio come to this? The worst of local radio on a national level - only much worse, by the sound of it.
No - I didn't listen to it, before you ask. I had much better things to be doing, like poking both eyes with a sharp stick, for instance. |

No thanks. I find it amusing that you really cannot handle somebody pointing out what is blindingly obvious about your broadcasting hero, though, Ernio! Toilets seats? National radio? Primetime? Huge annual fee for treating his listeners like the complete suckers they must be?
Jeez........ |

I've not said there's anything wrong with toliet seats (!) or that we need/don't them. The fact that it's the subject of Chris Evans' so-called and primetime "show" is what I find amazing. Truly amazing. Still, if that's what the suckers want, let 'em have it. Even at the extortionate price he's being paid for this low-grade pap. |

I didnt see you leading the moral outrage when Stuart Maconie did features on 1970's kids tv shows.
Your sense of moral outrage when temporarily AWOL at that moment.
I wonder why.
I think much of your criticism of Evans is just hypocrisy _________________ His name was ernie ........ and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west..... |
