Moan, moan, moan! No not me (this time) but Chubby Checker talking to Suzi Q about not being the biggest star in the world today! According to CC he is right up there with The Beatles and Elvis and doesn't get his due. Well, I like to do 'The Twist' and usually get up onto the dancefloor when I hear the song, but let's face it these were novelty tunes, similar to 'YMCA' and 'Agadoo.' Good for a laugh but that's about it. |

I remember Bo Diddley having a similar rant years ago saying he was the originator of Rock & Roll and isn't appreciated as such.
I definitely wouldn't put The Twist in the same class as Agadoo though! a bit corny but not that bad.
I actually remember Chubby Checker and the Twist being discussed on TV when it first came out! ( black and white of course )
There was a older chap saying how ridiculous it was and would cause serious deteriation of the hip and leg joints to the annoyance of a young female who thought it was great!
