Above is the poll about the get together offered to the group by the R2 studios in Birmingham.
Saturday afternoon
Just tested it and you can only have one vote, so choose 'either' if you're not fussed on the date. We can then add 'either' to the popular date and know how many might attend.
As well as voting you can also post on this thread to discuss etc.

Thanks John.
It's "either" for me, as Sundays are my main problem. Saturdays are totally open. |

Thanks John - it's the 29th for me only, I'm afraid - will still be up in the Highands the weekend before. If I miss it, though - I miss it. _________________ Author: “To the Ends of the Earth: A Snapshot of Aviation in North-Eastern Siberia, Summer 1992”

Unfortunately, John, I won't be able to make either as Mrs G is currently not well. _________________ Geddon

Hi John!! 29th would be better for me. Will you be posting a confirmation letter for us to print off and bring along? You let us know all the details, meeting point etc? |

29th is the only one I can make. Will be busy driving my Canadian relations around prior to that. _________________ Lord Evan Elpuss, Your ideal job is a Lumberjack. |

BB,
I don't know how to change votes, and you can't vote again, so it is noted that so far taking in the eithers, we have eight votes for the 29th.
Which means I'll miss a footie match |

Thanks John, as I said, sorry to be a pain, I had completely forgotten about the gig, I had already paid for the ticket, however, I will come to Birmingham, whichever weekend it is.

OK then, with BB's chnage of mind we have a possible 8 of us meeting up 29th September in Birmingham.
I had meant to e-mail Dave Barber today to confirm things but got tied up with a customer all day (good thing is - he paid me!).
So early tomorrrow I will e-mail Dave Barber and hopefully he'll confirm the visit is till on and then we can make some arrangements.
I'm hoping Stuart Maconie will be in the studio in the afternoon which would make the visit really special, maybe Dave will confirm that.

I remember seeing a post saying that the weekend of 29th was now no-go. Possibilities of a midweek visit instead. Has there been any further developments on this please? _________________ Lord Evan Elpuss, Your ideal job is a Lumberjack. |

Hi,
I have continued exchanges with Dave Barber. He's asked me to try and get a midweek date, and I've asked him to keep an eye on weekends for us
Dave says some R2 presenters (didn't say who) do come in to Brum midweek to record shows but it's not a regular scheduled thing, like he doesn't have R2 shows recorded every Friday or Wednesday.
So I'm not sure where we go from here. |

As I said earlier, I don't think I'll be able to take part in this but I hope it goes really well for all concerned.

It doesn't look as if I will be going either, which is a shame as I was looking forward to seeing where 'The dark lord' broadcasts from. Likewise I hope that those who do manage to go have a great time, if or when it does happen. _________________ Lord Evan Elpuss, Your ideal job is a Lumberjack. |

It's a shame this didn't happen (er, did it?) as both Stus (Maconie and Ed) were in the Birmingham studios on Saturday. |

exactly ...
what I was trying to say was .... you can just arrange a day to suit us and then turn up .... there's always going to be someone to show us around.... it's like a Motorway service Station ...... open 24hrs a day...
Oh, and just in case we get bogged down in a trendy pub having a great time the studios look like this...
