That's a pity Mark, but I guess the date chosen will be the date most folk can make, so as we get nearer to September we might come to some decision |

At the moment, 29th September sounds good to me. _________________ Author: “To the Ends of the Earth: A Snapshot of Aviation in North-Eastern Siberia, Summer 1992”

My footie team has a game 29th but I'll give the footie a miss if that Saturday is the favourite for R2ok trip. I'll put a poll up sometime in August.

I am sure that if there was any news about the proposed posters get together you would let us know John, but, it's getting close and I don't know about others, but I do need to plan. So any gen would be gratefully received, ta.

Yep, I'm possibly up in the Highlands for the previous fortnight but can cut it short if we're meeting up at the end of next month. _________________ Author: “To the Ends of the Earth: A Snapshot of Aviation in North-Eastern Siberia, Summer 1992”

Thanks for reminder guys, yes I did say I would put a poll up about this. So I will do, and I'll probably ask who could meet at Birmingham Mailbox on Sept 22 or Sept 29 or either or prefer a later date.
Now, how do I do a poll......

The poll is now up on a separate thread.

I'd like to get back to Dave Barber on 4th Sept with date and numbers so that all gets confirmed and lets members here arrange their Saturdays.

Hi,
I'm well pissed off, Dave Barber now says Sat 29th is not good
Quote: | John
I've checked and that day won't be convenient for us to show you round, for which apologies. I have more staff (and presenters) around on weekdays, but that may not be convenient for you.
Let me know.
Best DB |
Is it worth thinking about a weekday? I'm pretty flexible but I'm sure some of you aren't.
So, which presenters do R2 have in Birmingham on weekdays? I guess I can ask Dave.
Soz folks.

Possibly Thurs 27th or Fri 28th Sept if a midweek visit, as I'm on holiday that week. Canadians fly back home on 25th. I won't be able to manage any other week.
The only midweek DJs I know of who broadcast live from Brum are the 'Nightshift', viz. Janice Long & Alex Lester. Some of the specialist shows are done there, like Bob Harris Country, but when they're actually recorded, I don't know. _________________ Lord Evan Elpuss, Your ideal job is a Lumberjack. |

Yes. The Fox & Goose pub on London Road, West Thurrock is a very friendly place!

Will Tracey & Sharon be there? Do you get a lock in as only 1% of licenced premises have 24 hour licences, well that's what JV said today.

I wonder if this get together will happen in 2008-I assume it didn't take place after all in 2007.

Hi Mark,
Well, I could have another go at persuading Dave Barber to 'entertain' our group on a Saturday which would suit more people, but then there might be the possibility of a visit between Xmas and New Year as I expect a few here (like me) don't work that week? |

Can't make it between Christmas and New Year - I must be one of the few who is working then! Don't let that stop you organising it though if you get the chance. _________________ Author: “To the Ends of the Earth: A Snapshot of Aviation in North-Eastern Siberia, Summer 1992”

John-That will be the famous Dave Barber then-he's the guy who sends you an automated e-mail response you when you write directly to Lesley Douglas.
Certainly happy to join in a get together if something is organised.
I suspect though a lot of folk who might be interested in this could well have family commitments between Xmas the New Year period. |

Sorry, but there's no way that I could make it around that time.

Well, if you read the thread you'll know that Dave Barber knocked a Saturday meet-up on the head, and now there's no R2 at the Mailbox so no point.

Thanks.
A suggested meeting does not necessarily need to include someone from the BBC.
What about just a get together for folk of this board. |

Yeah of course Mark. I'd be OK for a meet-up in the Brum/Coventry area. |
