Rather funny scheduling with programmes starting at 10.18pm. Dont be late!!
I think this is a perfect slot for Maconie. Shane Ritchie is doing the reading of a Christmas Carol in 7 parts so 2 slots on Monday, 2 on Tuesday, 1 on Wednesday and 2 on Thursday.
Geez this is so complicated I think I need another drink. _________________ His name was ernie ........ and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west..... |

Agree - It'll be great to hear Stuart's show at that time.
Stuart for Drivetime?? Yes, ok - whenever he stood in he did really well, always enjoyed the show.
His Saturday show is ok (Bring back Richard Allinson!!) - I much preferred 'the Critical List' when it was on a Sat night instead of the excuse we get now.
Critical List introduced me to some new music, bands and styles. |

Yeah, I'm looking forward to hearing.
I used to listen to Rich in this slot, was great. I tailed off with Mark but read board messages that said he's ok so may listen again. |

Why split the broadcasting of the Christmas Carol readings? Does the mangt believe that Radio 2 listeners attentin span is limited to 15 minutes?
Will listeners sit through 90 minutes of Stuart Maconie to hear the next installment ? Why not run it over 7 nights as opposed to squeezing it into 4 nights? _________________ His name was ernie ........ and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west..... |

Wot, at Easter ?
Last year was Christopher Lee with some rather good ghost stories IIRC. _________________ His name was ernie ........ and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west..... |

I hope that Maconie doesn't do too good a job in Radcliffe's slot. |

Thanks to Stuart Maconie for playing Aimee Mann's 'Jacob Marley's Chain', from one of my fave albums, 'Whatever'. I also enjoyed him and Noddy Holder discussing perennial Christmas viewing, though nobody mentioned 'The Great Escape'!
Re: 'The Great Escape', though, Channel 4 did show the Simpsons episode where Maggie's at the Ayn Rand School For Tots while Marge rehearses her role as Blanche in the 'Oh Streetcar!' musical.
The theme tune to 'The Great Escape' comes in when Maggie and the other toddlers go off to find their dummies which have been locked away by the headmistress! _________________ We made a land where crap is king and the good don't last for long.
