Not long now before Gordon becomes Prime Minister.
Is he going to be a good PM?
I'm not so sure-what do others think.

He'll be no better nor worse a PM than he was Chancellor.
So for 99.99% of the working, saving, retired, or disabled population of the UK that's blanking awful, then. _________________ Ron |

Totally agree Ron. One thing this Government has done for me is to bore me to tears with politics, probably high on the agenda for them, so I won't notice any change. |

I wouldn't trust any of them as far as I could throw them- in particular any of the current incumbents who've caused so much damage to our once-great nation _________________ He's not the Messiah- he's a very naughty boy! |

We'll have to see what Gordon Brown will be like as a PM. I certainly don't believe things would improve under the 'hoodie hugger' as I call the old etonian in charge of the opposition. I hope that the incoming PM proves to be a new dawn as Tony Blair was too much like the tories for my liking. _________________ Lord Evan Elpuss, Your ideal job is a Lumberjack. |

How could we have done worse??? Did the boffins clone Hitler?
This country is turning into a "New Model" Nazi state. Personal freedoms constantly eroded, public opinion continually ignored, critisism of government rounded on and attacked- regardless of any truth, perpetual lies and spin instead of coherent policies and economics.... _________________ He's not the Messiah- he's a very naughty boy! |

He be announced as leader today and the pop X Factor contest will be over to announce who will be deputy leader.
Apparently Blair was going to sack him as chancellor in 2005.
We will have to see how he is once the honeymoon period is over. |

Harpy has been declared Deputy PM. Will she now tone down her comments about wanting apologies over the Iraq War? _________________ Author: “To the Ends of the Earth: A Snapshot of Aviation in North-Eastern Siberia, Summer 1992”

Who is Harriet Harman?
MP's are all attention seeking weirdos
My MP ran off with his interior designer. That's me done for politics.
If you ignore them they may go away. |

They'll just bring in more laws and legislation to make sure they get away with it, if it does _________________ He's not the Messiah- he's a very naughty boy! |

That's rubbish to say that they are all attention seeking weirdos. There are several hundred Mps and to say that they are "all" attention seeking weirdos is absolute rubbish. The majority of MPs are hard-working back benchers, many of whom have served their constituents well for decades. To say that they are weirdos is to attack the very system of democracy that we claim to value so dear.
Trouble is that we have become a society of whingers who like to blame everybody but ourselves for the things that are wrong in our society. My own Mp is a decent bloke who listens hard to what people want and tries to get things done on our behalf. To say that he is an attention seeking weirdo is complete cr*p.
Of course if people don't like what their own MP is doing maybe they should consider standing as an independent at the next general election?
I doubt that many people could be bothered. Maybe that's part of the problem? |

My MP is great. Sadly she appears to be one of a very small minority that do the job as a public service, for the benefit of her constituents.
Most MP's now are career politicians- to hell with the punters... what's in it for me? _________________ He's not the Messiah- he's a very naughty boy! |

Ohh, youv'e made me gone almost political!
I live in the 3rd safest Conservative seat in the country. My vote, under the current electoral rules, doesn't count one way or the other, although I hasten to add I have never missed a General Election vote.
There are no Independent standees and sometime not even a Labour Candidate as they always lose their deposits.
No one ever polls us before an Election, they just don't care here.
I must say, I'm pretty jealous of PJ and Fivewire to think that they have some input. Maybe P.R. would help |

I don't think so. However, maybe standing as an independent and making a lot of noise at election time would help. Maybe it's about time we had more indies in the commons! |

Will he manage to find a dozen people willing to serve in his cabinet? So far there seems to ne more people who would rather "spend more time at home with their families" _________________ His name was ernie ........ and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west..... |

I dont envy the country I guess Tony is going to be Middle East Envoy to take the pressure off Brown? He is a good thinker, but I don't think he will be as friendly as Blair was.
Brown needs to smile. |
