An excellent couple of weeks work Dermot-thoroughly enjoyed your stint-well done.
Sadly Radio 2's wooden top Mr Bruce returns next week-time to retune to Smooth me thinks. |

Ken will actually be on the QM2 sometime next week and will be doing his show from there, I don't know when he's due to go on board though. |

So that's where he has been for the last 2 weeks?
Ed Stewart used to work the cruise ships in recent years didn't he? _________________ His name was ernie ........ and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west..... |

I don't know where he's been lol!
This was the prize in one of those CIN auctions, someone paid a lot of money to accompany Ken and Roger Royle to New York.
Roger was talking about it yesterday during pause for thought, all he said was he and ken will be on the QM2 'next week' he didn't say what days or for how long but did say that Ken will be broadcasting from there. |

Just so long as Ken is back next week and we don't have to suffer any more inexperienced boys on work experience, in my time! If you are reading Ken, WELCOME BACK.

I don't think so as Roger Royle said he was going next week, hence his absence from Pause for thought for the next couple of weeks.
I guess they are going Thursday as that is the first day that Dermot is doing his show again, according to RT anyway.

Amazing as it may seem Terry has had the least amount of holiday (only 2 weeks) so far this year I recokn he'll be taking a long one (matron!) in the summer. |

No, let's hope he's confined to his Saturday afternoon slot where nobody can find him. IMHO he's simply not good enough nor has a wide enough appeal to succeed on daytime radio, nor is he charismatic enough to carry the show week after week.
As a stand-in, Alex was far better, yet I don't think he would be suited for a regular daytime slot. Given that opinion, I'm bound to feel that Kermit should stick to his Saturday slot where he can do little harm. _________________ Author: “To the Ends of the Earth: A Snapshot of Aviation in North-Eastern Siberia, Summer 1992”

I think Mark Goodier was far better covering for Ken. I dont know some of you should have listened to Mark on Smooth London, if you dont already? |

Kermit, of course....
Somehow, I knew that would prompt a reaction from you.... _________________ Author: “To the Ends of the Earth: A Snapshot of Aviation in North-Eastern Siberia, Summer 1992”

But a) I don't live in London, b) I don't like the music on Smooth, and c) Goodier ain't that special. |

Am I becoming predictable ?
Alex is slightly better than Kermit, but most stand-ins are awful and seem to be getting worse. |

Why are you being rude about Dermot O'Leary.
He is a fine presenter and is very good as the cover for Ken Bruce. |

I think that's a bit unfair to be honest, he's not my cup of tea but he's far from being a t*sser. |

I think that he is also from the same company as Russell Brand _________________ Geddon
