I will wager anyone who wants to take my bet that his opening lines on Monday morning will include
"I believe that it is a Monday morning today"
and that within 15 minutes he will say
" we have the usual old nonsense"
and
"I dont want to frigten you but its 6.xx am" _________________ His name was ernie ........ and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west..... |

Some of us are actually looking forward to Richard's stint covering the Dawn Patrol show this coming week and will be tuning in when we don't normally.
I still cannot understand the logic of some folk on these boards.
If you cannot stand Richard Allinson/don't enjoy listening to him why on earth do you tune in-it defies logic-find something else to do/retune your radio. |

I am trying to find new ways to "enjoy" his show. At least we will be spared the reading of the papers verbatim this week. _________________ His name was ernie ........ and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west..... |

I do think Richard had to step aside of his Sunday Oxford show as it was getting over exposed and I think he dosn't really like that? Well he is part of Radio 2 and Sunday Love Songs is a must listened to show. So maybe Richard could stand in on SLS next time? |

Somehow I don't think Richard has any interest in presenting SLS's. It's not his sort of show/cup of tea.
Better left to the likes of Lulu to deputise I think for Steve Wright. |

He has presented SLS and was one of the regular standins alongside Janey a few years back. |

Really Mark O-I never knew that RA had presented Sunday Love Songs in the past.
I missed these shows-hope they were good/memorable-presumably Richard livened proceedings/the format a bit (hopefully). |

Oh yeah was good at presenting the show. He did do it live as well, although you can never tell whether Steve is live or not as he's good at the show. The show is lively now, and I wouldn't say it was dull when Steve presents it. |

Gonna to have catch Richard sitting in for Sarah Kennedy earlier today on the Dawn Partol on the listen again feature this evening.
Surprised to find those regular posters to this board have not been on here as yet running Richard down-giveit time I guess.
By the way how's the bet looking Ernie. Did Richard come good for you with his predictable sayings.
Back to work now.
Good afternoon. |

Tune in for the rest of the week-Richard's delivery might grow on you. Perhaps Richard was distracted by Bobbi's good looks.
My wife tells me " Richard is so much better than Sarah Kennedy".
Have you heard Richard's new set on jingles on BFBS Radio 2 yet-they are very good-like the big band sound.
Richard Allinson rocks. |

Sadly Mark I could not listen live to Richard on Monday as my boss wanted me in at some ungodly hour. Still caught up with the Monday show on the Listen Again feature last night-brilliant show imho-great music and some amusing little throw aways etc.
Can enjoy the rest of the week's shows live etc.
For what it's worth Alinson & Walker to start my day is soooooooo much better than Kennedy & Wogan. |
