I thought the A-Z of the Beatles on SOTS this morning was brilliant. Rolf reworking Tie Me Kangeroo Down accompanied by the Fab Four- sheer joy.
You forget just how long Rolf's been around. _________________ The wheel keeps on turning...

although listening from a distance, I didn't think I'd heard this before... must have done...
Yes, I remember standing in the junior school playground talking about "Sun Arise" by Rolf, which would make me 10 at the time... (Oct 62)
The man's a classic. |

Yes he is quite the comic, his covers of rock classics, like Stairway To Heaven, are hilarious and I thought this mornings Tie Me Kangeroo Down Sport was excellent.

I didn't hear SOTS till catching up with it on Listen Again this evening. Yes, LOL at the Rolf Harris item. Great!
As for the rest of the show, usual high quality. But I thought that the Bachelors rather than Simon and Garfunkel had the British Top 3 hit with Sound of Silence. The Small Faces outtake of What You Gonna Do About It struck me as superior to the version that was ultimately released! Fascinating too to hear how the Yardbirds treated what we know as a Manfred Mann hit, Ha Ha Said the Clown.

Rolf wanted to release that Beatles clip himself, but was turned down - I'm sure the 1960s Beatles would've been disgusted at their 21st century selves....well, maybe not Paul! _________________ "....you're wearing a plywood bow tie with Dundee United on it?" |
