Richard Allinson hosting the Good Friday & Easter Monday wake up
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Richard Hanmmond 2-4pm Good Friday
Top Gear presenter Richard Hammond presents a special programme for Good Friday packed with special guests, games and great tunes.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Paul O'Grady 2-4pm Easter Monday
Paul O'Grady returns to Radio 2 with a Bank Holiday Monday special. There'll be no Nodding Busters, but the show will feature special guests, Number Ones from the Sixties, Seventies, Eighties, Nineties and today, and the new phone quiz, The Number One Game.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Record Producers 7-8pm Easter Monday
Richard Allinson and Steve Levine focus on the talents of Hugh Padgham, a man who successfully made the transition from engineer to producer, often with the same artist. His credits include Genesis, The Police, XTC, Sting, Human League, David Bowie and Phil Collins, for whom he helped create his iconic and trademark drum sound. |

As my old mum would say "there is no such thing as too much Allinson".
She was obviously ahead of her time and a huge Richard fan when she passed on these words of wisdom to me when I was a young boy. |

A little, not a lot. If you get too much of something you won't appreciate it when it comes along. |

Not a bad line up, I will be skipping O'grady though.
Looking forward to The Hamster on R2 and the Record Producers looks like another terrific outing.

Sounds good, although I'll be giving POG a miss as to me, his voice is the radio equivalent of dragging nails across a blackboard.... and as Andy says, the doc sounds very interesting. _________________ Author: “To the Ends of the Earth: A Snapshot of Aviation in North-Eastern Siberia, Summer 1992”

Looks like another 'cheap' Bank Holiday, nothing special just the regular standin doing the same show for the zillionth time, a couple of celebrities and a not so special documentary.
What happened to the days of in-concerts etc ? |

It's not looking (sounding?) good, is it. Still, one can always "spin that dial"!!!

Any lower and we'll be in pitch darkness!

Give the alternative Easter schedule a break guys.
Lets face it-it's a welcome change from the stale regular daily schedule and the dull smug presenters who present the same shows day in day out.
Variety is the spice of life and all that. |

Its not bad at all. Unforunately they seem to have insisted on Jezza coming in on both days. What is it with Radio 2 & Bank Holidays: they can never work out whether to have current affairs on ot not? _________________ His name was ernie ........ and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west..... |

Where's the variety ?, we have had this stale Bank Holday format for years now. The regular DJs take a break, the regular standin appears followed by a couple of celebrities and a documentary.
Lets have something new.
Same stuff Bank Holiday after Bank Holiday... |

We need to remind Ms. Douglas of this fact, then.

Nod-How many bank holidays do we get here in the UK.
The answer is not that many.
The schedule as proposed for this easter is very good indeed.
Give it a chance. |

Xmas, that takes 2 weeks on the BBC
Easter that's another 4 days
May Day, and I am sure the DJs will be off the Friday before
Whitsun bank Holiday, and I am sure the Djs will be off the Friday before
August Bank Holiday, and I am sure the Djs will be off the Friday before
so all together lots of opportunity for the Bank Holiday format |

I can heartily recommend Wave FM here in sunny Marbella. I'm sure it will be much better than the dowdy old R2 Bank Holiday schedule!
Come on over and get in the groove, possums!
