It only took 2 questions from Steve Wrong to have me slamming the off button today....
For goodness sake Wrighty, it just isn't funny, having you go off at a tangent- your scripted stuff isn't funny, so your off the cuff remarks don't stand a chance!
Besides which, it throws the contestant. I switched back on to catch the end, and I don't think the poor lady was overly impressed.

I thought the stuff like "the Champnio" and "skellington" was really funny....

I have a new colleague in the office, who's 26 years old. When I switched to Steve Wright this afternoon she said it was like traveling back in time to when she was a child! |

Ian,
Just goes to prove that continental drift moves faster than SW keeps up with the times. _________________ He's not the Messiah- he's a very naughty boy! |

I've listened to the show most of the week, and while I'd forgotten just how bad he is, I can't tell if he's now "mostly live" or not. During yesterday's quiz he made a comment about the weather, which is risky if it was all pre-recorded - or maybe it was there so we'd only think it was live... |

The only bits I'd guarantee were live are when he takes over after each news bulletin and when he hands over to Sally for the traffic reports.
The quiz, the interviews, the bits he does with the performing seals and pretty much everything else is all pre-recorded.
That's also why he has a "Webcam of the Day".... otherwise you'd be looking at a mainly empty studio between 2 & 5.
I've even heard SW and others mention they are at work around 9 or 10 am.
I think another reason is that SW doesn't have the skill or personality to carry a show "live" for 3 hours a day- his show is massively scripted (you can hear him shuffling the sheets of paper) and the recordings hastily edited (the joins in the edited, broadcasted version are clearly audible) _________________ He's not the Messiah- he's a very naughty boy! |

I think if you listen to him you should know what to expect by now. After all the show hasn't changed in 25 years. _________________ His name was ernie ........ and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west..... |

Oh yes, I know the tricks he uses. Like playing a jingle between Quiz and Traffic so you don't notice the difference between the recorded and live sound.
It's just that he's been making lots of "right now it's" comments this week. Maybe with Tim off last week he's not been able to pre-record it all yet. |

Is it me, or has anyone noticed the performing seals taking quite a few digs at Wrongy this week?
Thought the one about him not having the right personality profile for his job was a little gem!

Performing seals?
I've noticed old Tel poking fun at my hero's "Love the Show" comments from his millions of fans though.
I think he's just jealous... |

I see the oldies were down to 23 mins ( including the news!).
And as for fading Guns'n'Roses at the guitar solo
Hope he had his tongue firmly in his cheek moaning about DOL's bad impression of Ken Bruce ( and yes it was bad ) saying he'd heard better. Off Rob Brydon, certainly, but not from your lips SW. _________________ "Timpani!, Timpani!, They've all got it Timpani!"- All drummers know the pain of skin trouble. |

It always bugs me when he hasn't a clue about things and makes up some stupid explanation. Do they not employ researchers for that sort of thing?
One example was 'Jean-Paul Sartre of the Starship Enterprise'. I bet I wasn't the only person cringing at this reference when BBC-2 ran Star Trek - The Next Generation at a time now reserved for cookery shows! _________________ We made a land where crap is king and the good don't last for long.

He seems to think his ignorance and made-up references are actually funny, sadly.
He also finds it highly amusing to cut a guest or caller off by saying "That's enough, I'm losing interest now"
We lost interest years ago Wrighty.. how about re-vamping the show format? Or would that be toooooo much trouble??? _________________ He's not the Messiah- he's a very naughty boy! |

Wouldn't that have been one of his famous misunderstandings for comic effect? Wrighty's a massive Star Trek fan. |
