Oh thank you for that I'd didn't think of that Angela!
Was a bit distracted on Sunday as my friend and her daughter were in Israel and at Tel Aviv airport for almost 48 hours trying to get a flight out. They were
3 days in to a 3 week trip including Jordan but fortunately were still in Tel Aviv area. Home now thank goodness!

I am not surprised that you were distracted Helen, thank goodness your friend and her daughter are safely back home. _________________ Pirate Johnnie Walker played my request on 11 April 2009 |

Just listening to Simon Bates on Boom (Sundays 2-4pm) and I've come to the conclusion that it's fast becoming my favourite programme of the week.
Excellent tracks with interesting stories attached to many of them. Today's one has to be about Rumer.
I'll recommend it to the house!

I also enjoy his 70s show on Saturdays whenever I catch it. Very different from JW's on R2. Love Johnnie to bits but...... _________________ 88 - 91 FM this is Radio 2 from the BBC!

I'm not a regular listener,Helen, but I caught some of Simon's programme last Saturday and he mentioned Paul Jones being on Jool's Hootenanny programme (which I hadn't seen) so I went to the iPlayer to have a watch.
Paul was looking and sounding great on it! |

I haven't seen that Becky so I may have a look!
I think what I like about Simon's Sunday show, apart from the music, is the chat is more interesting and dare I say there is a little bit more of it than on the other shows. Something that I miss, even though we often used to moan about endless chat on R2!!

In my head I have always put No Regrets by The Walker Brothers in with their hits from the sixties. Listening to the charts on Boom Radio today I thought it must be a re-entry into the chart of 1976. Looking it up I found this was wrong and it came from their album of the same name released in 1975.
Lovely, live version of it by the composer. Tom Rush.

Enjoyed both of the charts of today's programme. |

The boss of Boom Radio makes some excellent points about the BBC on Roger Bolton's Beeb Watch podcast this week:

I did listen a couple of weeks back. You should see his pages and pages of local radio that he sends to the BBC. He's no slouch. Very impressive.
