Another topic in this section started me wondering - which guest has appeared the most times on Jonathan Ross' Saturday show?
Off the top of my head, Ricky Gervais has appeared 6 or 7 times, Jack Dee at least 3 times, Glenn Tilbrook 3 times, Michael Ball 4 or 5 times .. I don't think anyone has really appeared excessively frequently considering it's been running since 1999. _________________

I suppose it only really matters if a particular guest happens to bore or irritate you. Personally I love Ricky Gervais' sense of humour and always find him good for a laugh, whereas Michael Ball I find absolutely talentless. _________________

I like both Ricky Gervais and Michael Ball.
Steve Wright also has a habit of inviting the same guests on his show. When will Danny Baker finally be a guest? |

I don't find Ricky Gervais funny at all (although I accept I'm in a minority there). Michael Ball on the other hand I've seen sing many times and he's far from talentless, imo

Talentless ? Now if someone came on here and said that about Chris Evans you'd be down their neck faster than a sh*thouse rat. You're not one to make broad brush statements like that, how is Michael Ball talentless ? You might not particularly like his voice or his style but even you can't say that he's talentless. That would suggest he can't sing in tune, can't string half a dozen words together etc. etc. Maybe Mikey's just not to your taste groover ? |

Well - he can hold a tune, but I can't really say more than that. I personally find his cover versions excruciating; they never seem to add anything to the original; in fact more often than not they dramatically subtract, for me anyway. _________________

I agree with Twostepper, we can't all like the same people.
Talentless crikey I'd settle for half of his talent
(edited for spelling)

Add me to the list. I watched 'The Office' at the behest of a colleague at work but most of his lines and antics just made me cringe. Making me cringe is a sure way to make me reach for the 'off' button. Each to their own, though - he gets plenty of work so enough people must see something in him.
I even vaguely remember seeing him on TOTP with that group of his - 'Seona Dancing' - funnily enough, they *never* get played on the radio. Why is that?

With the exception of Ricky Gervais, most comedic guests on JR's show tend to come from Off The Kerb - Rossy's agency and the producers of the show.
So that's why Jack Dee, Jo Brand, Dara O'Briain keep turning up and why Mark Lamarr keeps standing in. |

So it's a form of nepotism, then?
